I would. I don't consider him as highly as most do though - TheNugeIsHuge
Then there's no reason not to consider Emelin a top pairing dman. He may not be there quite yet, but give him a year or 2 and he will. |

Just curious, would you consider Seabrook a top pairing D? - fidopro
Absolutely! Emelin is great at his role but he is not offensively gifted enough to be considered a top defender. |

Go have some more KFC You clearly have no idea how good Emelin is as you most likely only watch the Oiler and whoever they play. Also please stop this talk about Emelin because he is not even on the table as far as the Habs are concerned. - flyerdude17
So now you have a problem with KFC???
Youve gone too far! |

You think Emelin is as good as Seabrook? That's pushing it, I would say.
He's 28 now...? He should be playing his best hockey today |

I agree Eberle offers are ridiculous. The guy is a supreme talent and most offers are garbage. Keep him, Eakins will be gone soon and Eberle will return to form. - flyerdude17
He's playing well as of late. 6 points in his last 5 games. |

Please stop? It isn't Oilers fans involving Emelin in there talks. Most of us are not that enamoured with yet another 2nd pairing Left handed D. - Jeropotato
Your right, this blog started with T. Myers and has got out of control
Bottom line is top pairing dmen are not available, like a previous poster saying to go after McDonagh, well the Rangers are not even listening. He is there number one guy. Talk later, have a great sunday. |

He's playing top pair with PK and Habs are 7-1 to start the season. He's playing very well. I think he'll be better in a year from now. Very close to 29 y/o Seabrook IMO. |

Eberle is awesome and if I'm the oilers I don't trade him at all. Unless he's some sort of locker room cancer or acts like he's at the country club all day but I really don't get that impression from him. |

He had a week first few games but still has 6 points in 7 games. I think he will be fine with Eakins |

They don't want to trade him, just an image the media has portrayed cause the oilers need to shake things up |

I'd look good next to Subban. I don't know if I'd have Emelin higher than Hjalmarsson |

Agreed, I would not trade him unless it was for another first line winger with size and grit and that ain't happening. When all are healthy that Hall, Eberle and RNH line can be as good as it gets. |

It's going to take a deal that MacT just can't say no to in order to pry Ebs away from Edmonton. He isn't available just to make a trade. |

Who knows if eberle is on the block but with all the scouting of the oilers lately there has to be something of substance in the works. But I wouldn't trade Ebs or Hall. Everyone else depends on what the return would be, imo. Actually I wouldnt move/ruin draisaitl either. When the oilers picked him I said out loud "wow, they picked the right guy. Going to be a very good player". Perfect pick for their team. |

Those two are about as similar as you are going to find. Both very valuable and hard nosed. Emelin hits a little harder but Hjalmarsson is unreal at blocking shots. Great comparison imo |

and with maybe the best forward group in the league in front. That's why I'm a bit skeptical of Seabrook, but I think he's proven it |
