and we aren't better with either of those players than we are with eberle
We aren't begging anyone to take him...
And if those teams u mentioned offer the same type of package; the reply to their offer will be the same as it was to the laughable emelin or tinordi offer - hugefemale dog77

It's pretty embarrassing how much Sabres fans overvalue Tyler Myers. |

It’s crazy. Yeah, he had a good season several years ago. And yeah, he’s your number one Dman. Only because the team is a mess.
I get the sentiment that “well, might as well keep him, and hope he picks it back up”, as he has shown he may do. But he hasn’t been all that good for a few years now, is going on 25 years old. There is no way he’s worth a 20 year old kid playing 22 minutes a night on the first pairing on one of the best teams in the league, and playing it VERY well.

He's been a lot better lately (starting the middle of last year) on an awful team.
He shows flashes of what he can be and is becoming a lot more consistent. The team is a mess and Girgensons, Myers and Ennis are the only players that are watchable. I expect a decent return if he is traded but not what some people are expecting. I'd say right now he's well on his way to hitting his potential which is a #2, IMO of course. He might just top out as a #3 on a great team. |

I don't really see anything that Dallas would be willing to trade (IE: Not on their current roster) that Buffalo would want badly enough to trade Myers, since they have no need to trade him. Buffalo needs high end wingers. Don't really see any in Dallas' farm system unless I'm missing them? Neither Ritchie or Richardinson would keep Murray on the phone. Additionally, their 1st rounder won't be in the lottery, so the value on that for Buffalo is marginal considering they're already likely to have 2 1sts in the 15-25 range.
Seguin is pretty much the only thing that would be of interest, and that would never (ever) happen. Even Benn doesn't have enough years on his contract left really, he could walk before Buffalo is ready to compete whereas Seguin is at least signed thru 18/19.
So yeah, no deal to be made there. - Kalahad
Meh, I wouldn't trade Ritchie or Richardinson for Myers. Nill got Seguin for a Smith and a concussed Eriksson. Spezza for a 3rd liner and a 2nd. I trust him to make a move and not give up a whole lot.

The value's there and it probably makes us as good or better.
But I worry that Eberle as a trading chip might be our big chance to solve either our centre issues or our defensive issues, so making a hockey trade for another winger is sort of frivolous |

No he isn't, and no the Sabres wouldn't.
Anaheim doesn't have a "#1" defensemen. They have a few guys that are all on the same level in Vatanen, Fowler and Beauchemin. They all play around 21 minutes a night.
You are on crack if you think the Sabres would have to add. The Ducks have wanted Myers for 3 years and at one point were willing to trade Bobby Ryan for him. - sbroads24
Sorry, but if you think Myers is a better player than any of the aforementioned Duck's D men you're out to lunch. |
