Try writing free wi-fi on the side, it might be more effective in this day in age. |

Here we go. Gillis says... thats fact to you... but not me(like hillbilly just said). It remains questionable unless there is a more creditable source than Gillis at a dinner defending himself.
I have a friend who had dinner with him too... I still handle the info that comes back with a grain of salt. I even believed some of the poop Gillis supposedly was saying about the owner because I also have an uncle who has been close friends with someone in the head office. He also knows the owner... Gillis has said a lot of poop that is pure ass covering and finger pointing. Some of it collaborates. I have no doubt that Gillis would lie and exaggerate like many would.
I love how the Cody's father comments almost mirror the comments he was saying about Luongo's wife at this dinner. Right away I thought... "careful of using that bullpoop line twice to cover your ass... makes it look pretty weak".
If at some point Cody asked to be moved and it was kept completely out of the public with no ripple effects in the dressing room.... is that a cancer? Like I said, people gave Lu a pass for going right to the public and tilting poop for 2 seasons. Strange the way the double standards float around here... Cody was professional about it all *what ever the real story is*. Hardly cancerous....
Cody and his agent both said it was bullpoop that his father was making demands. All that gives us is one group's word vrs the other's. Im not going to say their story is fact. The only thing fact is they both have a different story. It seems like no one is willing to consider that. - boonerbuck
So you heard the same story, meaning it's a fact.
We aren't discussing if Gillis is lying or not, it's whether or not it was said. Now that we have determined Gillis said Cody was a cancer, we have no where to go from here. Unless we pay to have dinner with Bieksa. |

Dinner with Bieksa is so last years Dinner with Edler - VANTEL
Bieksa is in for a long year if he continues to force the game to come to him. He takes too many chances, he pinches when he shouldn't, if he isn't noticeable he's played a good game…which has only happened once this year so far. |

Perhaps he'd like to go home to Ontario? Maybe we can throw a Zack Kassian in there to get a scoring winger as well? |

They suck…they need a shakeup in the worst way. I didn't watch them play last night, never do, but I did see Campbell score his goal. Gardiner wouldn't go in the corner and Neon Dion was looking up in the stands for chicks while Campbell deflected his goal in - WTF?? They're a mess... |

First of all... whats going on totally privately between a GM and player agent cannot be considered a Carnival. It doesnt hurt the dressing room like you are accusing. I cant imagine any team could stay stable for any length of time if it's affecting the team like you say.
This is just one big speculative post. Nothing but rumors and assumptions. After posting these assumptions you continue on about the facts going on behind closed doors lol.
Who's the first quote from? ...and because I don't believe what Gillis said does not make me gullible. It makes me reasonable. If Cody had actually said anything about it for me to believe then maybe you could suggest it but he stayed professional about the whole thing what ever it may have been unlike Kesler and Lu. *Cody the Cancer* did not drag his team through any public bullpoop whats so ever.
You assume you know the details of a conversation and that lead to his trade because of the timing.... management says its working on the Kassian deal for over a year... the trade goes down on the deadline.... but none of that factors in this conversation you imagined with AV?
You cant talk about all this like its fact. Who cares about rumor tweets and the timing of a conversation. Cody just played 2 games on the 4rth line right after he played a strong game on the 3rd and already scored from the 4rth. The team was suffering miserably offensively... its not uncommon for a player to go talk to the coach for some more ice time. Henrik is on record saying he done it with AV a number of times when he was coming up in the league... Do you think you are basing way too much on media rumors...apparently not. - boonerbuck
What goes on between GM/Agent can't be considered a circus? Kurt Overhardt anyone? Sheesh...You are gonna tell me that team stability wasn't affected by Kesler and Luongo's agent's antics? Man Overhardt most likely had AV on speed dial and was very public about AV's treatment of the crybaby Kesler.
The quote was from Rich Winters twitter account. I guess he wanted to gloat a bit without coming right out and saying it. I agree Cody did take the high road and was very tight lipped through the whole process but was most likely counselled to do so.
I also agree that Cody wasn't anywhere near the cancer that Lou and Kesler became but you'd have to think that Gillis didn't want yet another 'situation' on his hands and just nipped this one in the bud. To me, it was going to be another problem that the team didn't need.
Of course I don't know all the details of said conversation but you have to understand that alot of this 'speculation' surfaces because there is some form of truth to it. The difference here is that I choose to believe the majority of the speculation because (to me) they actually outweigh the 'facts' which you might claim. There was just too much 'speculation' at the time of Hodgson's crap that made too much sense to me.
I'm not saying it's fact...I'm saying I choose to believe it because I have been around hockey long enough as a 44 yr old right up to the WHL level. This stuff goes on plain and simple. There is lots of behind closed doors stuff that we will never be privy to but all I do is weigh the options and if it makes sense to me then hey...it makes sense. I'm not saying that Gillis was right about everything because that certainly probably wasn't the case and I certainly hate to have to defend the guy...but I do believe that Coho was going to be an issue short term and long term and Gillis just had had enough. Boston got rid of Seguin because he was a problem there....Ribiero has seen three different teams in three season because of his issues....you could rattle off 20 examples of players that are shipped out due to internal problems. Whether we choose to believe the speculation or 'facts' surrounding those issues I guess that's up to the individual in question. Normally a GM wouldn't dump a 10th overall pick unless there were gonna be issues...
And I agree with you yes Hank and many other players on the Nucks have probably asked for more ice time...it's a common practise. The difference here being of course is that Hanks agent wasn't calling the team GM every second day on the advice of his old man.

I'll be truthful, there is little that I want from the Leafs. Losing habits turn into a mindset and breeds . I would hate to do a major trade with them unless it was for their first round pick. Then you know you will have at least one top 10 draft pick. |

Hey I was reading here last week and someone mentioned that Burrows was asked to waive his NTC...was there any more on that? Speculation? lol

I think about twenty five games in you will see Jensen up on the big team and a few players moved. This season seems to be going exactly as most here had predicted . I know we are only 7 games in but seeing the team year after year there seems to be a pattern. |

Ya the Leafs don't have much. If it gets more dire in TO I wonder if we could pry away Winnick to play here with Bonino...they were killing it as ANA's third line...couple guys from a winning environment too...
