guys, this is why we needed to sign jarome iginla this past offseason. |

but in all seriousness, i think the penguins would be better off putting hornqvist and kunitz on different lines. ideally you get a guy via trade and then bennett who can play on the top 6 and dupuis can drop to the 3rd line with sutter and comeau, leaving goc to play with downie and spaling. |

BB isn't a better hockey player than Duper though. |

ill take the young legs and a guy who can develop into the role versus the guy who is past his prime.
the difference between bennett and dupuis is marginal, if even that. |

I keep thinking that this time off with the knee might have been a good thing because it gave him 6 more weeks for the wrist to further heal. That's been the big issue, and he keeps on rushing back and lot letting it gain strength. |

If pens play like this the rest of the season I'll be happy... just bring megna in for sill already... has he even played in the 3rd? |

Yeah, they played a solid game, that's for sure. Much better defensively for a full sixty minutes! Plus two PP goals in the third. PP does not miss Neil like everyone thought it would. |

They still need to figure out a way to play while ahead...they were defending for a large chunk of the third period. Just very passive and moving backwards all the time. |

It's a nice thought. That wrist looked pretty damn good in the pre-season. At least the bad ice was a reasonable excuse for the latest injury. |

BB will not be as good a hockey player as 9 by the end of this season. People keep saying young young young. Its about right now, and right now Duper is a better hockey player. BB will be a good 3rd liner for a week though. |

So, I missed this entire game (date night with the gf at that Hundred Acre Manor haunted house place).
I see a shutout, so I assume we did good. Looking at the stats, we beat them in pretty much every category, so probably dominated possession?
I am curious, as to how Downie got a PP assist? |

Two thoughts about the game.
First, so glad they let Despres play through the early season penalty struggles. Seems to be playing well to me and glad to see the kid getting a chance to improve.
Second, this team has to learn to press the play in the 3rd. They seems to clear their own zone, dump in for the line change, and then sit back. They have got to get more Ozone time with a lead instead of just allowing the play to be taken to them. |

Despres is da man. He'll be (If he's not already) an above average 3rd Pairing Dman. Hope he stays for a long time.
I thought we did a great job last night. |

looks like beau bennett isnt to far from returning (knocking on wood). Once he comes back, he could slide right in with dupuis and malkin. That will also allow comeau to play with Goc.
thoughts? - Kunit
He will play 8 or so games and be re-injured.
I'm not even talking about that dude or considering him for anything until he plays 40 games in a row without breaking something. |
