I disagree.

He has been playing well. While not dominating he has not been a liability. Playing against top competition will help him more than playing in an inferior league (WHL) or a league where they play a differing style (Euro leagues).

everyone's possession numbers were a bit inflated from score effects the first few games so his 5v5 corsi is a bit skewed. 5v5 close his CF% is 50 on the dot which is pretty good, but he's had pretty soft deployment. (80% offensive zonestarts, easy comp)

I have no issue with soft starts. The team is not fully convinced that he is up to task to start in the D zone...and that is Gordon's lines job.

Nuge and Arco start any where. Gordon starts more in the D while LD starts primarily in the O.

I am liking his play when I watch him and his stats are showing he is playing a solid game also.

So, IMO, I don't see why he should not play past 9 games with the Oil.
