His value is low right now but that doesn't mean he won't be a great player. It just likely means he won't be a great player for us and we look stupid for how we handled the situation. Just think of how much higher his value could of been had we traded him the second the decision to keep Severson up was made. Then he doesn't start the season as a healthy scratch for 5 straight games. Not saying his value didnt take a hit until this season but I think that is really what got the train rolling on him. Anyone who doesn't watch him and has only checked in on him to see whats up will see that he doesn't have many points and has been a healthy scratch numerous times but that's on the Devils for not playing him in Albany from day one and making him stuck in no mans land. But He doesn't get time on the pp like most players you would be comparing him to. If people watched him play every night they would see he has played well enough to be on the Devils.

Matteau, Boucher, Sven would make our prospect pool look a lot nicer. Plus they all would likely make the jump full time next year with a lot of players set to become ufas and not knowing what Jagr plans on doing after this season.

I think as long as Pete is here, he wouldn't do any better than Larsson, JJ, or Teddy. Pete never developed the young guys in Florida and he is doing the same thing to us.
If we pick in the top 10-15 and both White and Barzal are still available, I would draft White first, than trade Zajac to a team in the 10-15 range if a team needed a center to draft Barzal.

Jagr, Havlat, Rydr, and Brunner are all UFA, but three have only been in the lineup at most times, so three spots would open up, that doesn't include if Lou sign free agents. Sven, Matteau are both LW so unless Clowe gets switch to RW and Cam does than it might work, but if they don't this team will be even worse than this year with more UFAs signed.
