Dumbest argument ever. If you could score 110, you freaking would. No one is not going to shoot the puck in this league. - usethe1-2-2
I know. I was using the same logic he did for Bergeron |

Except Bergeron is one of the top defensive forwards in the league, constantly starts his shifts in the defensive zone, and is constantly faced with the other team's opposition. His offensive role is secondary after his defensive role.
Datsyuk in his prime is the one you could make an argument for. That guy passed up some Art Ross trophies for some Selke's. |

Everything you described for Bergeron is the exact same thing the Wings use Z for... I'd rather have Z over Bergeron any day of the week.

Since 2007 the 10 players Z has had the most 5 on 5 ice time against: Kopitar, Backes, Nash, Kane, Erat, Sedin, Marleau, Thornton, Getzlaf, Perry. AKA shutdown role. |

Evidenced by all of the 0 votes he got for the Selke last year while Bergeron racked up his second one. |

Alright. B, Schenn, Rinaldo, and Zack Stortini for Martin, Scuderi, Adams, and a 7th - jmatchett383
how about just Schenn and Read for Martin, Scuderi, Adams |

No way I'd do Schenn and Read in a panic trade for 2 guys who will be back in a month, especially if we have to take your garbage and add it to our pile. |

Haha yes I know. Just couldnt think of anyone else to add from us other than prospects to get both Schenn and Read. |

And Z could be a 110-120 pt guy if all he cared about was offense. Newsflash Z has 10pts in 7 games. Bergeron is a great player but Z is and has always been better. - Feds91Stammer
Z has been better but I'd still take Bergeron. When he played in the Finals a few years back with a torn rib cartilage, broken rib, separated shoulder, and punctured lung, then spent 3 days in the hospital after Game 6....I mean, come on. That's one of the ballsiest things ever.
I want that dude on my team. |

If you seriously wanted Schenn and Read, it would probably have to include some prospect. The Flyers would want Pouliot most likely, but I'd think Harrington would be more likely. |

I believe most hockey players would do that in the finals, to be honest.

Why are we calling in 2007? Also, are you denying the fact that Bergeron is a superior defensive player to, well, the entire NHL? - jmatchett383
Since 2007 means the last 7 years. I guess they don't teach reading comprehension in Philly. Previously I stated Bergeron is a great player. Are you denying the fact that Z is a superior defensive player to almost all of the NHL? |

Yes, but why are we only going back to 2007? You just blurted it out, and I was wondering its significance.
And while I think he is a good defensive player, I don't think he's one of the "elite" ones like Bergeron, Toews, and Kopitar.
Also, I don't live in Philly, but way to take a personal shot at a whole city while we're having a hockey conversation. Maybe the reading comprehension isn't so great on your end, as my profile clearly states I'm not from philly. Very classy of someone preaching about a player from a city that recently declared bankruptcy and is the murder capital of the USA. |

Trade Scuderi to the Flyers for a 5th round Pick, Penguins retain 25% of his salary. They would then have 1.8M in cap space. |

I'm not 100% opposed to this, assuming he doesn't have any more years. |
