Not so much anymore, eh?

At this rate, we're gonna see ECHL talent on the blueline at the Phantoms game in AC on Black Friday.

- tangent_man

Well, hopefully we still get Hagg and Ghost

Per Dave Issac, Alt is one of recalls
- Jsaquella

I hope Alt plays like a boss and sticks, forcing a trade.

It's unlikely, but it's time for this guy <-------- to dream some dreams!

Really, at this point, it doesn't hurt to have Manning and Alt up here now, in late October and November. They are probably ready for, at least a look at 3rd pairing minutes at the NHL level. Especially Manning who played a regular shift down the stretch in 2013.

I agree. I think the key is how honest is Hextall with himself over the real prospects for the team this year. And naturally, the Snider influence.

Perhaps we should set him up on a dinner date with Sam Hinkie.

Nope, top pair against Detroit will be Streit-Grossmann

Let that sink in for a bit

Who's meeting me at the bar?

- BiggE

I'd take Streit-Grossmann over Kronwall-Ericsson any day of the week as long as it's not Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, or Saturday.

Put MDZ with Schultz or the AHL guys? Schenn with them? This is a lose-lose on the surface.

Edit:

- NickTheKid87

I actually like the idea of MDZ with a steadier, more veteran guy like Schultz.

I just....can't we just split up Schenn and MDZ? I feel like Berube is going to have to right? Otherwise that pair gets way too much ice time together...

Top pairing in Pittsburgh was Grossmann-MacDonald and they won that game.

I think Streit will have to take on more minutes but not sure Grossmann just slide up to top pairing. I think you might see this:

Schultz - Striet
Grossmann - MDZ
Alt/Manning-Schenn

Shults has actually been very steady and MDZ has been better then people think.

unfortunately for you guys i dont think every team is going to just repeatedly get into the neutral zone and promptly soil themselves.

how long until the masses cry for ghost?

Actually, if they make that the 2nd pair, I'll live with it. Just keep Schenn-MDZ off the ice as much as possible at ES

If by Schultz you mean an orange safety cone, sure I'd buy that.

You can't ice Ghost, Streit and MDZ together, too soft and very thin on the PK. Plus do you really want to toss an undersized rookie with less than a dozen pro games on his resume into this poop show?
