I'm ok with it. I would have preferred Alt since he is also not subject to waivers, but I doubt they felt they would be able to make a worthwhile trade.

Give him a few games and see how he does. They can always send him down and recall Alt if it really doesn't work out

You know, it's funny. I hated the Morin draft pick, mostly because I wanted a more mobile guy. But with Sanheim and Ghost, Morin becomes much more valuable to the team.

So now, he would be the showstopper in that deal. Even if he is not in the deal, two things to consider. First, that 2015 pick could really be top 10. If I could get Strome or one of the other top centers, I wouldn't do it. At that point you're better off with 2016 and trading B Schenn for another winger, instead of McDavid.

second thing - I don't thing the team that wins the lottery trades him.

That's a good question. I'd probably go with Schultz, but it could any of those. I doubt Streit or MDZ for obvious reasons

He was going to get exposed at some point. As long as he comes up and plays regular minutes, and doesn't end up in Shelley Suite, it's not all bad.

As I said, I would prefer Alt. But Gostisbehere getting the slot isn't an automatic (frank) up.
