If I had the top pick, it's either McDavid or Eichel. The biggest reason I consider that deal is because there isn't anyone in that stratosphere in 2016.

I know, but for the sure thing shot at one of those two, it's worth it. Even if, maybe especially if, the Flyers miss the playoffs this season, they will almost certainly be a bit better next season, if only because they will have more cap flexibility.

If I can trade the 12th pick in 2015 an the 19th pick in 2016 for the top pick and get one of those two, plus Schenn & Morin, I'm strongly considering it.

The biggest issue to get down here is when it's busy. I can jump in the car an be in Philly in 90 minutes, and it's not a very taxing drive, unless there's a lot of traffic.

Understood; it's not wrong. If the kid becomes a generational guy, certainly, I'd have egg on my face

But I just so firmly believe in the value of making picks if you know what the hell you're doing. The Flyers have traditionally just killed it in the first round. They just do -- even now, Laughton looks like he might be stronger than most pundits thought. Morin came out of nowhere and if it were up to me, he'd be playing for the Flyers tomorrow on his nine-game tryout

I just believe in what they've been doing for the last, what...20-ish years now, starting with Boucher in 1995? Not perfect, but no one is...but they're pretty damn good at it.

They just need more than one player, and it needs to be defense, to me -- though the thought of Giroux or a generational type player getting to go against second-pairs makes my head spin
