CG showing 49 w/ 4 slides after Noebels left:

Seems they can afford to add a few contracts. - Tomahawk
I still don't understand how the Hagg slide rule works. I assume he no longer slides if he gets called up, right? Does it slide back if he gets sent back down after a call up? |

Jamie McBain, Streit and MDZ on the same blueline interest anyone? - Tomahawk
McBain tried out with the Yotes and was released ..pass |

Is that including Hagg? Crazy that he can slide even though he's playing in the AHL. |

Turns out so is Derek Morris, which I did not realize. I assumed he wasn't signed because he's so old, but he's only 36. I guess he has had some injury issues though in recent seasons - mcefalu
i want no part of morris, jovonovski or any other scrap heap crust buckets. roll with the kids. do it. do it now. |

First order of business is to find a medical staff that can read an x-ray. I've never seen a sports franchise with incompetent medical personnel. - PLindbergh31

I think they have a decent relationship. At the same time, both guys know it's a business. I doubt they see entirely eye-to-eye (but no coach and GM ever do, except when it's been one person holding both titles ) but I think they respect each other enough to get on the same page.
They were both clearly in total agreement about the conditioning program implemented over the summer. I don't think Berube shed any tears when Hartnell was traded by Hextall, either (nor do I think Hartnell misses Berube). OTOH, I have a hunch that Berube wanted to enter the season with Morin on a nine-game trial and Hextall was adamant about sticking to the development plan he set as soon as he became GM.
Both guys also know it's a business. As such, if a situation arose down the line where Hextall thought the team needed a change behind the bench, he'd make it. - bmeltzer
Would it be fair to say that Berube's a bit more conventional, and Hextall's a bit more progressive in their respective ways of thinking?

Berube is more of a punch-you-in-the-face type of guy, Hextall's more a slash-you-in-the-back-of-the-knee type of guy. |

With Grossmann having to play a lot more minutes over the next four weeks, what are the odds that he will stay healthy during that time? Streit, L. Schenn, and Schultz could all be leading a pair by Halloween. |

No doubt. I don't know how much more seasoning Manning can get at the AHL level. I'd like to see him for more than just a couple of games with the big club |
