Wtf are you smoking? I have him being punished and put on the fourth line. Just because I think he could be a great player on this team, doesn't mean he's getting preferential treatment from me or unconditional love. I think he has a lot of maturing still to do, and it starts with him having to earn back that 2nd line centre spot like he did the first time when he knocked grabo out.

And right now Komarov to me is earning that 2nd line spot...or is santorelli? who knows.

- mykokes

That being said, the reality is, Kadri badly needs a winger on the second line to help out.

I think Santo and Komarov make that line click...if Clarkson was a step faster maybe he'd help out even more. Last game I watched Clarkson try to beat a guy wide..he makes Franson look like Pavel Bure

which is exactly why he should be bashed when he comes to that realization, and says he's working on it.

Honestly, who does he think he is, addressing concerns about his game, in an attempt to be a better player? That's not the kind of attitude we want here in Toronto!

- Feeling Glucky?

this is why we always end up with the same bland interviews from players. Any time a player is honest with the media they always try and spin it into a negative.

In reading that artivle about Kadri/Taveres he said that taverse eats, drinks and sleeps hockey, trains all the time. It sounded like Kadri didn't want to work at that level to be that type of player.
- sparky

then the article you read must have left this part out:

“Johnny’s a guy that works hard and that’s something that he’s learned from day one,” Kadri said. “I’m getting my work ethic going and doing everything I can to become one of those (elite) players. But obviously (Tavares) was taken No. 1 in the draft for a reason.”

Pfft, scratch Gardiner to January. We all know he plays better in the second half.
- mykokes

No way..play 7D..we have some guys that just don't bring it some games...gives RC the choice to sit them on the fly...+ it gives guys like Holland a chance for a little more ice with guys like JVR/Kessel/Winnik/Komarov/Clarkson instead of Frattin and Panik.

I'm pretty sure if he'd been laid out that long, he couldn't handle more than a 20 second shift his first night.

It's the guys that practice all day that can skate hard all night.

- Feeling Glucky?

Excellent point.

I think he may be too lazy from laying on the couch all day playing video games, and might not make it to the game.

so-so

problem has been just lack of leadership

everyone who has leadership out of the lineup...

J staal, E staal, Skinner was until last game, Liles, Dwyer, Gerbe

thats a decent amount of injuries from guys who fill the lineup. especially E AND J.

- Lucas Neilson

I wish the Leafs had more injuries. They arent good enough without McDavid

I think Komarov is having a Kulimen type season......may need to trade him in the offseason when he peaks.

anyways, keeping up with my daily ritual:

Big fan of them bringing up either broll or bodie, one of the two.

those are TRUE 4th line players...skate, hit, fight, grind but wont score.

im ok with that.

- Lucas Neilson

I agree, if they can work the cycle down low and tire out the other teams d, and protect the stars...thats a good fourth line.

Kadri's probably pouting after RC chewed him a new arse for playing terrible D against the Wings.

Kadri will get back on a roll in the next few games IMO ( maybe not Boston but soon )

a mean nasty line doesnt HAVE to fight a lot, just be tough as nails is all i ask.

but they gotta be able to play hockey, thats the key.

I just wish he had an ounce of a scoring touch

The one game I see him out front all alone...except he's gliding backwards towards the boards and way out of the play and scoring zone

He's a pass first guy. Gives him the opportunity to go throw another hit as the guy he passed to scores.

Like Detroit. How many freaking puck battles does that team win in a game...and every player seems to be involved.
