Really?

Hall and Seguin together would be (frank)ing dynamite.

Just like Yakupov- Galchenyuk will be once you trade him to us for nothing! MOUHAHAHAHA!

- Scabeh

Yeah Tambo scoffed when Boston wanted Eberle.

I'd certainly do that deal now

No. I mean both would be be Oilers.

They had a deal in place for Boston's pick too. But he wouldn't give up Eberle.

- robin_steele264

you are (frank)ing kidding me...what was the deal exactly and how in gurglehookers name did you find that out? I mean all speculating aside.

Burke made some very good moves for the Leafs, some bad ones too but mostly good ones.

I'm still waiting on Nonis to actually do something good to be honest....

- Scabeh

I think Burke was better at knowing what he had as far as prospects/future prospects/trades available through the league. Nonis seems so disengaged. Have no idea what his line of thinking is.

Agreed. Or even just swap Lupul with JVR.

I could see Kadri sneaking a beauty pass over the JVR right in front of the net on a pretty consistent basis... and Lupul-Bozak-Kessel has worked well in the past.

- Feeling Glucky?

Me too. He clearly has skill. He's real young and has yet to hit his prime. But his most consistent linemate the last 2 years has been Lupul who has never hit 30 goals and misses ~15 games per year to injury. Then a revolving door on the right side.

Not only that, but we have seen how Bozak can play when he's not taking a lightning fast tip-in from Kessel or always looking to dish to him. I think breaking up the bromance is well past due

They showed them talking at the draft. It was during the whole Taylor vs. Tyler thing and the Oilers wanted both guys. Tambo offered a package and Boston wanted like Eberle and a pick. It showed Tambo hanging up the phone with Boston right before they picked and he turned to his crew and laughed saying 'they wanted Eberle'.

I think Staal would be a good fit for you guys, that top line would be dominant. I don't really share the same view on Gardiner, I think he's a young JM Liles, which isn't a bad thing at all, just don't think he has the defensive awareness/toughness to be a consistent top pairing/top 4 guys. And Staal would be a huge upgrade in the middle. I know moving Kadri would sting for what he could turn out to be, but I think from watching the East last year, you get into the playoffs, anything can happen. I doubt many had pegged NYR and the Habs to meet in the conference finals. And I think making a move for Staal gets you into the playoffs for sure.

Just my two cents

Seguin>Hall. Not by an astronomical amount but he's the better player.

Burke's main drawback was his FA signings. Which, for all intents and purposes, the Leafs have done much better the last couple years.

They should bring him back, leave those signings to Shanny and Dubas and let Burke handle the trades and drafts.

I miss Burke. I think when he got there he got forced to make some moves. They wanted to be a contender as fast as possible which kind of forced his hand. I think that would be a sweet combo and I miss the grease ball to.

Nonis was credited by Burke with getting JVR, and brought in Bernier.... We were spoiled with the big trade every year Burke had going for us

I wish they would give Kadri a chance to play an extended amount with an actual stud player like that. (frank)in put him on the top line, give them O-zone starts and have Bozak do the PP to win the draw.

Roll a 2nd unit of Lupul-Bozak-Winnik. Let's face it, we are living and dying by the top line anyway, and the beauty of a 3rd is doing the defensive work.

I just want to know finally 100% exactly what Kadri is. Can he be a 1st line C? Sure as hell won't find out with Daniel (frank)ing Winnik on his line.

- TheThrill

Kadri is a 2nd line center, I dont see him as being anything more than that.
Now what quality of 2nd liner will he be.....well we will see.

Or another team will see.

Came pretty easy, that trade took a while too. My guess is not a lot of interest. Not to impressive but it came as a great add. Two 2nds for Dave Bolland?

To be fair, there wasn't much available in FA's

He tried to grab B. Richards
