The future looks bright with 2 lottery picks in a deep draft next summer though

Buffaluck - they could own the top 3 lottery spots (sorry Isles fans, just using it as an example) and they'd still lose the lottery...

And yes, Eichel is still going to be great, it's just the point.

We have a guy "in the know" on our board and I think he called it even after the Sabres traded him to Minnesota that he was very likely to be back. The money/term doesn't exactly hurt, but it's at least a small glimmer of hope that some players like playing there.

Re: Hagelin vs Grabner:

According to tracking done by PowerScout Hockey, Carl Hagelin has the highest top speed, of the players tested, in the NHL. (Sportsnet)

Some of the players tracked included Alex Ovechkin, Taylor Hall, Michael Grabner, Patrick Kane, Sidney Crosby, Marty St. Louis, Phil Kessel, Tyler Seguin, Nathan Mackinnon and Rick Nash. (Powerscout, via Sportsnet)

Hagelin’s top speed came in at 37.10 KPH which equals 23.053MPH.

Hagelin also spends the most time in the league at 20 km/hr or more in the league with 44.2% of his 13.36 per game coming at that speed.

Once again, rangerdanger94 is correct.

- rangerdanger94

So according to this, Tavares is faster than Grabner? I'm a bit skeptical.

Yeah no way this is accurate. Tavares and fast aren't really something that comes to mind. Also I souls have to think hall and McKinnon amount the fastest.

Was Boychuk not on the first PP unit? Maybe he had just finished a shift or something, cause that's madness if not.

Sucks to play such a good period and be tied 1-1, but I'll take that on the road.

What was odd was not seeing him on the pp at all. No Nelson on the first unit either. JT and KO look good tonight but Conacher isn't doing anything useful. He's gotta go when grabovski is ready.

He was out there with the second unit, if I remember right. I get it if he had just finished a long shift, but if this is some crazy Doug Weight PP idea, then, err...that's not a good one.

Second unit was Dehaan and leddy. Visnovsky and Nielsen on the first unit. Boychuk needs to be out there.

I really hope deHaan gets over all of the injury issues, because man, he's just smooth out there.

Yeah, that's crazy. He's probably being punished for not scoring or something lame like that. Vis and Nielsen bring about the equivalent of a wet noodle as far as point shots. I still don't get why Boychuk and Leddy aren't on the first unit. Five legit scoring threats.
