Don't forget Clusterbuck, and it might mean exposing two or three of them to wavers. - David_Volek
I think if they are thinking wing then the guy to target is Eberle in Edmonton. Don't know what it would take, probably Reinhardt, a center and prospect. Also, thoughts on Johnson starting in nets tonight? I kinda like it. |

Most important lesson from last two games is that a 1 or 2 goal lead means nothing against the top teams. - Fan101

Like the lines for tonight.
I think we all agree with the pickups of D men and goalies in the offseason. What I think the Isles need to do now is the Vanek trade. It made no sense last year with what the team needed then, but now it does. Now , before you all go crazy, I am not suggesting we trade for Vanek. What I am suggesting is getting a real proven top line winger to play with Jt and Kyle. I admit I am not sure who is available right now, but Garth should definitely be looking around. THen the lines would be:
Top LW- JT - Kyle
Lee-Nelson -Strome
Grabo -Neilsen- Kulimen( excellent defensive shutdown line)
Cizikas and whatever 2 out of Bailey , Martin , Boulton, Conacher, Grabner. (whichever ones are left after the trade)
I know its gonna be tough to get this LW I am talking about , with the lack of all the 1st rounders we gave away last year, but I really think that's what we need. My whole point of this was , last years Vanek trade would make more more sense right now. - chazpet
If I'm trading for anything, it's another solid defenseman. We have at least 2 defensemen I would waive without hesitation.

I think if anyone, outside of Conacher, get's a shot at JT's line it's going to be Lee. Strome has played RW up to this point. - eichiefs9
Think the Isles could pull of something like the Blackhawks where they have their best RW on the 2nd line? (meaning maybe Okposo try to help carry that line and it be more threatening) |

It's definitely a thought. Although he's just meshed so well with Tavares up to this point it would be hard to move him off that line. |

Moulson should have been proof though that you can put a competent NHLer on a line with him and he'll do great things. Conacher doesn't fit that bill.
But yeah, I agree with the chemistry those 2 seem to have. I'm just always stunned at how Kane plays 2nd line RW so much. |

I'm talking about playing with a lead in the third period. That was diasterous last year and has been improved this season |

don't get the dislike for him... guy has drawn 5 penalties this year. He hits, kills penalties, drives other teams nuts.. and doesn't seem to get penalties too much. .. why would u not want him out there? |

Re: Hagelin vs Grabner:
According to tracking done by PowerScout Hockey, Carl Hagelin has the highest top speed, of the players tested, in the NHL. (Sportsnet)
Some of the players tracked included Alex Ovechkin, Taylor Hall, Michael Grabner, Patrick Kane, Sidney Crosby, Marty St. Louis, Phil Kessel, Tyler Seguin, Nathan Mackinnon and Rick Nash. (Powerscout, via Sportsnet)
Hagelin’s top speed came in at 37.10 KPH which equals 23.053MPH.
Hagelin also spends the most time in the league at 20 km/hr or more in the league with 44.2% of his 13.36 per game coming at that speed.
Once again, rangerdanger94 is correct. |

This was really interesting.. thanks. Maybe they should just have a race with the fastest guys in the NHL to see if your Stats hold up.. oh wait they do.. and Grabner won....weird. |

I was pointing out the OP forgot about him. I don't dislike Clusterbuck. I don't feel he is anything more than a fourth line player, though. Plenty of them around. |
