Conacher has dropped off. I see Conacher as more of a bottom 6 guy. - ses111
Conacher as a bottom six guy is a healthy scratch. Might as well waive him and secure Lee's roster spot. His only use is speed, which must translate to scoring, or else he is a waste of a clean sweater. See "Tambellini, Jeff" in your Islanders Encyclopedia. |

ya seriously. lets not go into the whole woe-is-me routine when it comes to injuries...it happens to all teams. - LetsGoIsles
Agreed- if half our lineup is on IR, and we suck, everyone will know why. You won't have to tell them, and you especially don't need to tell us. |

He's a pest as well and has drawn some penalties in front of the other team's net. I don't mind him sticking around as long as he's not taking up anyone's roster spot (or on the first line), which right now he's not. When Bailey or Grabner comes back, then we'll see, but someone else may well go down by then.
Nice to see Grabovski coming along so quickly! Man, he looked in rough shape when he went down. Wouldn't mind seeing him get some time at center with maybe Nelson shifting to the wing. I think Grabovski's traditionally been a good faceoff guy, and he has the speed to get up and down the ice in a hurry. I also like the idea of having a bigger, stronger player like Nelson who likes to shoot and crash the net on the wing, with one of the crafty playmaking centers dishing the puck to him.
Johnson looked solid in net, but Halak is the starter. If he bombs again against Dallas and Johnson shines in his next start, then maybe they think about riding the hot hand, but Halak's allowed to have a bad game once in a while without losing his job. |

chara is huge loss. that will impact Bruins in standing for sure. Especially b/c we have their 2nd best dman now.

I wrote in the Bruins blog about boychuk. I said they got a DECENT return for JB at the time (2 2nd rounders). But it's amazing what being in cap hell will do to a team. I asked them, out of curiosity of course, what they think it would take to acquire JB from us. They're still in salary cap hell, so a roster player would have to be included, to lower their cap. Now with chara out, the need has dramatically risen, especially with how he's been playing. The Draft picks would certainly have to be improved. At least 1 of them is going to have to be a 1st rounder.
You're looking at a first rounder and a roster player to start. What you guys think? Obviously I want him extended and not go anywhere, but it's amazing how well snow did on this trade. |

I'm going to wait and see how the season goes and if he signs with us. If he does, great move by snow, if not, still a good deal to buy some time for the kids and teach this team to win. I hope he stays, he and leddy have been huge for us

I can't wait to hear negotiations are happening.. I hope he sees his importance and the status he holds on the blue-line and gives us a few years. JB seems like a guy who endears more to the team composite rather than the almighty dollar. If we offer 2-4+ years, I hope he sees enough in us to sign early. I just want notice that the negotiations aren't waiting. |

The Devils are absolute sh*te in the shootout. They should just not bother. |

Yeah, I agree....he's a player we've needed forever. No guarantee any of the prospects are going to be that kind of player. I'd hold on to that one for sure. |

Jagr should just take a slap shot from the blueline. He's hated the SO since he was a Ranger. He's almost as bad as Shaq was at free throws, respectively. |

I don't mind having him on the 23 man roster either, but he's a top two line winger, to me. If he's not in one of those spots, he should be sitting, in my opinion. |

The goalie is a sieve in the SO, too- the more I watch that guy play the goal, the more I think he's no better than what we have....a good, solid goalie....but he's not on the in-prime Brodeur level, not by a long shot. |

I expect the Isles to have jump and legs the entire game. Dallas playing last night, should tire as the game goes on. If the Isles bring wave after wave of speed and relentless forecheck, we may be on the powerplay often and should win 4-1 maybe 5-2.

Grabovski on for #Isles AM skate. Looks good to go. Appears Chad Johnson getting the start in goal tonight. |

Chad getting the start again is a surprise. I like using both goalies though and not letting a guy sit for a month. |
