Thats $3M-$4M over the life of the deal depending on the length of it. Pretty significant if you look at it that way. They will find middle ground though.

I don't think that a 500K difference (or $3M-4M over the life of a long term deal) is that significant, especially for a guy like Staal. I think that is a gap that the parties' should work to bridge, and get it done soon.

I though the difference in Callahan's and the Rangers' position was significant, and likely unbridgeable, last year. Don't feel the same about these negotiations.

True but there are a lot of other variables in a contract such as trade clauses, salary structure, signing/performance bonuses that take negotiation. This deal will be done though by the deadline I think.

I dont think anyone on MTL is big enough to run kreider. You just know that subban is gonna play like a man possessed to outshine mcdonagh after getting outclassed by him in every aspect in the playoffs.

I am actually not buying the hype for this game. It is game 8 in October. Both rosters are a bit different. I really don't see much of anything crazy happening. Yea Kreider might get booed, but other than that it will be normal business like.
