Yet the Islanders and Caps are killing it

Yea not sure how long that holds up. I can't wait for the Rangers to get completely healthy.

I don't see how Boston finishes any better than 3rd and dare I say possibly miss the playoffs?

Dan Boyle is gonna be such a difference maker.

In other news around the league, the Preds look for real and Richards has a new nickname in Chicago: turtle. And its a unanimous opinion on their blog that he's 100% washed up.

Yea I guess since its only a 1 year 2 million dollar deal, it is a lot easier pill to swallow for a year. Really they can get away with press boxing him with no real issue.

I have always loved and followed Dan Boyle's game. I wish it was a few years earlier but pumped he is a Ranger now

She actually knew about that one, cause she thought the commercial was creepy, and there was something seriously wrong with me.

Yeah might want to wait for the 21st on the whole beer in a public place.

18th is usually the strip club.

The first glimpse at true advanced analytics...not this Corsi proxy stuff:
According to tracking done by PowerScout Hockey, Carl Hagelin has the highest top speed, of the players tested, in the NHL. (Sportsnet)

Some of the players tracked included Alex Ovechkin, Taylor Hall, Michael Grabner, Patrick Kane, Sidney Crosby, Marty St. Louis, Phil Kessel, Tyler Seguin, Nathan Mackinnon and Rick Nash. (Powerscout, via Sportsnet)

Hagelin’s top speed came in at 37.10 KPH which equals 23.053MPH.

St. Louis had a top speed of 35.90 KPH which equals 22.307 MPH
Nash had a top speed of 35.10 KPH which equals 21.810 MPH.

Hagelin also spends the most time in the league at 20 km/hr or more in the league with 44.2% of his 13.36 per game coming at that speed.

This would be a cool blog idea Jan and could spark some conversation amongst different fanbases on this site.

Jan do you think Boyle an Step make it back within the same week or so span?

- mrn22

Think a big more of a spread - 2-3 weeks is my guesstimate

Rangers may keep Duclair around for 39 games:

Section 10.1.a of the Collective Bargaining Agreement states that a player who has either “accrued” seven seasons or is 27 years old at the end of the league year can be an unrestricted free agent.

An “accrued season” is defined in the CBA as a player being on a club’s active roster for 40 or more games during a year.

Anthony Duclair, 19, will have the first-year of his entry-level deal burn off no matter where he plays this season but the Rangers may be able to push his free agency year back by not keeping him around past 39 games.

If Duclair were to play past 39 games he would be eligible to become a free agent at age 26. By preventing him from playing 40 games, Duclair would become a free agent at age 27.

Ryan Malone skating as an extra with Michael Kostka. So, if this holds, Duclair (who hails from Montreal), in for Malone as the change.
