Everyone just assumes every player who isn't a kid will be dealt

If wideman goes who replaces his minutes ?

- Redmile247

If he brings back a good young, still growing but with 1st pair potential player, you have to move him. Larsson?

I just brought it up because thats what was being said everywhere at the start of the year. Atleast what I saw.

Unless you can replace his minutes properly and not force Diaz in or have a kid who isnt ready from the AHL than he stays

Well if that's the case you may have to

If it's below value and just for the sake of trading him I don't like it

next year one of russell/wideman/diaz can be gone to make room for wotherspoon.

he's ready and I just think that the return for one of wideman/russell would be considerably bigger then the others. Good time for the team to make a move like that at TDL

But like I said, its less minutes I'm concerned with, and more the natural RD position

i don't think any D will be moved unless for value. no rush there.

Its in the forwards that they need to move some age to open up some spots. at least two of glenx/stajan/hudler/jones can move on and no resigning of grats/seto.

Love grats, but that era is over next year.

Won't be easy. Canes are looking to get a big win and also want payback from their last visit here. Flames won in OT despite being outplayed....at least that's the way I remember it but we also polished off a bottle of patron and a couple bottles of wisers in the box.

How about you let the canes win tonight then the oil can beat them tomorrow?

If he is ready than I'm all for it, but I don't want him to have to come up because we made a trade

I Imagine he will be up before than anyways due to Injuries as they happen

he did well last year. I think its a case that logging more minutes in the AHL is more beneficial then sitting. Kind of like how they handled brodie, they took their time.

Good move on a D. He'll be the first D up for sure.

I agree with this

But just remember that we don't need to rush any of the kids ...if they come up and force a trade great but the last thing I want to do is slot them in to start the season because we didn't resign vets

Remember there's a salary cap too

you mean salary cap minimum. And yes, this time has no need to rush. One more year though so GlenX shouldn't get more then a 2yr if he resigns. Backs at least 3yrs.

But backs needs a raise (I think he'll get around 4)
jooris, bouma, Byron will be signed, all around 1-1.5)
I think Ramo for another year (3 mill).

Really, we can keep everyone on the ice this game, but I think theres going to be some players wanting 1ways (like baert, Jooris, and I have a feeling Agostino - he's cocky enough)

Yeah cap floor was what I was referring too

I say lock backs up longer ...he has shown me enough to deserve it

I haven't looked at our cap situation or do I know where the cap is expected to be at but don't be surprised if at some point in the near future there is a big free agent signing
