Why would the Oilers do that is my standard response, they want to get better and deeper filling holes, not selling off assets rebuilding.

You want Eberle, it starts with gudbranson or Bjugstad, its that or they hang up the phone..."OH hes our future captain and stud dman, hes going to be a top C on this team for years"...yeah well you don't get a Top Line RW for pennies on the dollar

That Neal for Hornqvist/Spaling trade REALLY solidified their top six and fourth line. Hornqvist is killing it all 200 feet of the game while Neal was more just offense only. Spaling is a great agitator/faceoff/PK guy. Its putting the hurt on our team.

I can see Eller as a sweetner to a deal as hes a valuable piece. But you would have to add a guy like Tinordi or Beaulieu and another piece like a 1st rounder to come close.

That is sort of like the Bobby Ryan deal, traded at 25 with terms on his contract for a, young Top 9 Forward, A Top Prospect, and a 1st

Very true, I don't mind fair offers but this is different. If Eberle is traded (which he won't be) then it will be for a true #1 dman. Stop gap center can be had for draft picks. It just makes no sense to trade him. Oh nevermind we need to "shake things up"

Ugh we got Briere to do the work instead, it was PAP and our 1st round pick for him.

Would have gotten rid of PAP and probably keep stastny staying away from Iggy, and chances are signing Niskanen too, we had an offer out on him

I think the time of trading for prospects or picks has passed for awhile, if Eb's is on the move I honestly think it will take a top pairing Dman to get him. I don't even think he will be moved for a centre.

The only way I see Ebs going in a trade is if CAR or BUFF come calling, because they have what we need, otherwise I see us using picks to pick up someone to fill. All i am hoping for is it to go threw this weekend, because the Oilers need someone to be that guy between Nuge and one of Draz or Acro in order to really compete this year.

yeah it doesn't help you guys now, but that is the sort of Value you need to put up in an Ebs trade, and even probably a bit more since he has more term on his contract still and its a buyers market. He didn't ask out like Ryan did

Exactly but I would try and package him with something else and try for that elusive #1 dman we desperately need. We don't need multiple pieces coming back, just one solid player and if we have to add picks/prospects to make it happen, so be it. Maybe it's a long shot but OEL comes to mind or an even longer shot... Pietrangelo although it would take a lot more than just Ebs and I doubt it would be worth what it would take for the Blues to move him.
