What we saw last night was a very good time playing a NOT very good team.
- Der Kaiser

That is what I saw . The effort was there . The final score did not indicate the actual game . The Sabres competed last night . Coach Theo did get through to them . I don't know what game the experts in the room watched . Was not the same one as me.

The announcers said the Ducks did the same to the Blues the night before.
- cabin

They said it took over 12 minutes for the Blues to get a shot on goal in the 1st period.

The Ducks are going to be in the discussion for the Stanley Cup, so I'm not surprised that we had a hard time with them....again.

61 should NEVER see the ice again with the Sabres.

On the day of Hasek's number retirement, they should also raise the #61 to the rafters with no name on it, just a giant "X" through it.

I'm not kissing his ass DD.
I see stuff like this on big job sites weekly.
The finger pointing when something is wrong and nobody wants to man up.
Happening right now at canal side about a 70' stretch of exposed aggregate heated walk that my company was directed to install at a certain elevation by the surveyor (IGS) and the the construction management company, (Pike).
Now all of a sudden , nobody on either end wants to remember the conversations that were had about that specific portion of sidewalk that is not ADA compliant.
Pike wants my company and the site contractors company (Pinto) to absorb the 15 k to replace it when the entire area is nothing more than a design flaw by the architect which I pointed out way before we poured the concrete.
We won't eat that cost I can tell you that.
My long point?
When Nolan is wrong or the problem, I will have no problem with admitting he is not doing his job.
I am not kissing his ass right now.
But right now with this roster, ugh, this is not his fault.

Let me just jump in here, maybe prematurely, maybe preemptively.

"Effort" alone will not cut it when the Sabres are playing for real. "Competing" alone will not cut it when the Sabres are playing for real. No fan of this team should be happy with the product that was on the ice last night WHEN THE SABRES ARE PLAYING FOR REAL.

But let's all agree that for now, we are rebuilding from the very edge of the abyss, and we can be happy with progress, for now. And let's all agree that for now, effort and compete equal progress.

Let all be pleased that we are moving away from the edge of the abyss, and give the franchise some time to get us to a finished product we can all be proud of, rather than complaining that the talent and coaching we have currently - as we progress toward a finished product - sucks.

OK?

It was called "suck for Luck" here in Indy and blatant. Lets not over-think the vet pick ups this past off season. It will be a few years, and we need to look like we are trying, while being << mediocre. Carry the torch, "rebuilding with quality vet leadership", teaching, max effort, buzzword, buzzword, "compete", blah blah blah...

Draft high and often is the plan - lets not be delusional.

I wont say what the game plan is when we play the Islanders...

Let me sum this up in 1 sentence.

If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all.

Sound about right at the moment?

That's very very close. But some in here don't like it simple.

Umm, this would be a mighty quiet board and quite boring if it was all "nice" talk about this team...

Nope they just like to complain and convince themselves they are smarter than everyone including the GM and the coach of the team.

Yesterday , But another would start my day out on the right note . Need all the momentum I can get . Have a conference call with The FCC again today . The political appointees could never get a job in the private sector.

At some point it's going to be a really quiet board because it gets old reading about how bad they are too. So really, it doesn't matter either way.

We could talk about the good things that are happening in the rest of the organization, like the Amerks win last night.

Schaller has been a hell of a FA pickup for them dating back to late last year.

Hahahaha they should. ill never forget when he was asked in an interview why he wore #61 and he stares the reporter down and said it was a secret and he wasnt going to tell.

Also to make it worse the last 61 max moment was taking myers for a walk and sniping patrick "full-of-holes' lalime

I never knew that to be a term for a part of a woman's anatomy. So I guess I meant the real thing. I fell asleep during the game last night and I was having a dream I was playing RC-Pro AM on Nintendo. It was awesome.
