Fox should be playing in the AHL. I don't really know how he lost a spot in Utica. I can see a few guys and wonder how they have a spot and he doesn't.

On another note Gilman and a few others are in the crowd in Utica. Watching a few guys.

Shinkaruk looks good and so does Horavt but Jensen is the most noticeable. Shooting lots going to the dirty areas controlling the play with speed as well as being defensively responsible. If he keeps playing like this we could see him soon. Jensen is the best player on the ice for both teams tonight by a large margin.

Jensen is a shot machine most nights. Does this team ever need these guys to take the next step.

Miller is not a Canuck past next seasons TDL.

I've stopped thinking about who the goalie is going to be next week, let alone next year.

I only did because he is was a play by play guy in the Phi vs Pit game and I felt everyone else should hear his annoyance.

Miller's trade value is sky high right now

I was really happy/surprised that he went unclaimed. IMO he still has legit NHL starter ability. A goalie coach is probably doing wonders for him.

I hope so, but Miller needs to be playing like a top 15 goalie in the league to have some demand for him.

Some interesting reviews at HF from the Comets game. Horvat and Markstrom getting a lot of love. Shinkaruk is probably getting the last amount of hype compared to Horvat, Jensen and Gaunce.

Here's some good ones from people who watch the Comets regularly:

On Bo. He was very effective when he got on the ice. I think his was the 4th line not the third. His ice time increased in the third period. You have to know this game to understand Bo. There is no flash, no dangle, no highlight reel stuff. He is just plain good. He is good on the draw and if he doesn't win his guy isn't going by. He is spot on with his passes and when they miss it's usually because his mate didn't get to the spot he should have been in. He is very strong on his skates and forechecks very hard, but under control. If the opponent breaks out, he still ends up being in perfect position in his own zone when the puck gets to where he belongs, uncanny. He backchecks like an NHL veteran. He goes to the slot when his mates are behind the net or along the end boards and he doesn't get moved, but also finds open ice at pass time. He breaks up all kinds of activity in his own end. One of the headiest guys I've ever seen at Jr. eligible 19 years of age.

He does this all without being all that noticeable to people who follow the puck and not the game. This kid is going to be a very good NHL player for quite some time. Glad I'm getting to watch him for this stint because I doubt he ever comes back. His ice time tonight and when he got it and who he got it with was almost like Green's plan was to get him him game action without risking any future damage so he gets back to Vancouver ready to really put his best skate forward for his nine games and maybe then he sticks. He won't hurt the Canucks if he stays, but they have to play him. He can't sit out the season as an extra forward.

Pretty high praise here for Bo.

On Jensen. He actually played the best all around game he has ever played in Utica. His backcheck at times went all the way to the end boards and he was physical when he got there. He rarely got inside the blue line last season and then just coasted around. He scored a goal tonight. That's about about 25 games earlier than last season. As to his shoot first and take no prisoners attitude with the puck. That has mellowed. It's still there, but he is trying to involve his linemates, passing the puck to get it back. He is sometimes doing the opposite of what the play calls for, passing when he should shoot and vice versa, but that's understandable since it's actually new to him. I was not very high on him last season as he was extremely me oriented and very selfish with the puck and had little to show for it. Now he is trying to play as a complete player and if he gets it, he just might become a pretty good one.

Nice to see that Jensen is working on his weaknesses.

Horvat looks like the real deal to me. Solid in all three zones and nice skill with the puck and physically looks ready.

Shink has obvious skill but does get pushed off the puck easily. He may need to work on strength and adding some muscle before he is ready for the next level. Just needs to combine strength with skill.

Gaunce I like a lot. He didn't have as good of a game tonight as he did in the previous road games but I love how tenacious forecheck.

Jensen played well. Just needs to finish more often. Scored on a nice backdoor feed from O'Reilly but had a few other chances that he didn't finish on. Played a physical game tonight which I liked.

Another guy who loved Bo tonight and also liked Jensen's game. Gotta think Jensen was playing at 110% tonight with Gilman in attendance.

I think Burrows will be offered up at the trade deadline. Anyone disagree?

If he's willing to waive or Benning does what Vantel's suggesting and basically threatens to waive him unless he OK's a trade I think he'll be staying.

Can't see Benning doing that to a super popular player like Burrows, that's asking for a lot of trouble in the dressing room. It also would make UFAs a lot more leery of signing in Vancouver if that's the case.

Benning is going to have enough trouble moving contracts without worrying about who the fans are attached to. Vancouver Gms (probably all Gms, for that matter) have to master the art of completely ignoring fans without seeming to.
