Actually, the Isles still have a ton of cap room. I don't think they have to worry about losing their prospects yet.

Not so sure Eli. To keep Boychuk then his salary will have to go up to at least 4.5-5 million per year, to keep Leddy then 3-4 million per year. Brock is an RFA up after this season, he will probably get a bridge contract of at least 2.5 million, then you've got Okoposi in a similar situation the year after, probably would need a 4 million per year to keep. Guys like Strome, Martin, Nielsen, Visnovsky, will also be due for raises.

I would say that something is going to have to give in about 3 years.

No but JT will be making over 10 million a year in a couple of years. They caught a huge break by getting him to sign for 5.5 on his last deal. He going to recoup those loses in a big way I don't know about a ton of space I think they are at 63 million and max is what 69? My numbers might be off a little

Max is 69 million. You have plenty of space now. But raises to Boychuk, Leddy, and Brock are coming after this season(if you want to keep them). I would say that if you kept all three, you'd be looking at an additional 4.5 million or so in salary cap hit per year for these guys. Nielsen, Okoposo, and Martin are all up the following year. Let's say that costs another 4.5 million in cap hit, all of a sudden, with JT only having a year left of his contract and due for a HUGE raise, things don't look so simple.

Salary cap gets everyone....

I agree but Viz is done after this year and guys like Martin are replaceable once they start asking for bigger money then they should get. But yes in a couple of years they will have to make some tough choices for sure
