But those who want to point out he s a "3rd line center" have obviously not watched the pens this season or in last years playoff because it's very clear he s played like a second line center...poulliot is not a mid level d prospect btw ... He s a high end prospect who might have made the pens roster out of camp ( like maata last season) if not for offseason shoulder surgery

Good team defense is the bare minimum in the NHL these days. Nobody in Edmonton has seemed to realize this for a long long time. Until you get a front office that demands it, a coach that teaches it, and players that play it you can't even begin to compete.
