If adding a couple of backup goalies and 3rd-4th line players is an overhaul they Oilers should probably just blow the whole thing up again. At some point you have to stop digging the hole, crying over the spilled milk, etc and move on.

If they're going to do the bare minimum they should maybe get an NHL calibre center or two and some guys 3rd-4th line guys who can play good defensively.

Pouliot and purcell are 3rd liners that can play good defensively, our 4th line has been awesome so far.
He went after the dmen available to him, Fayne a good pick up, Niki not so much.. Cant win them all.

EDM needs some vets. Maybe also a couple prospects so they could also perhaps chase the top pick.

How about this (assuming they can get guys to waive NTCs)

To BOS: Eberle, 3rd round pick, low range D prospect
To EDM: Lucic or Marchand, Spooner/Koko/Subban (pick 1), a low end prospect and this year's First rounder.

The B's get their top 6 right-shooting RW, the Oilers get a vet, top 6 fwd, an NHL ready prospect, a project, and a 2nd first round pick to potentially package for one of the top 2 picks.

As a joke, if you'll give us Ference back, we'll let you have Bartkowski and 2 of the prospects listed. I miss Ference.

Sutter is a 3rd line center which we don't need. And we don't need another D prospect, we need a current top pairing dman. Pouliot is good but not what we are looking for at the moment. Not saying value wasn't there.
