Kadri thing is from the quote.

The ceiling thing there s nothing wrong with saying someone could be that good.

Bergeron and Kessel shoulder be part of that convo. Toews vs Ovi is a reasonable argument, I d take Toews

Kadri said that himself?!?

I give credit to Kadri. The guy says he wants to be as good as Tavares. Not sure what is wrong with that.

No he made a comment that the big difference between him and Tavares was that JT lives and breaths hockey

Pretty sure he meant skills wise, he's not far behind. And working on his focus and attitude would help achieve his goal.

Not sure what people read wrong into what he said.

Let me try to explain it to you. Kadri, with the same focus, attitude and work ethic as Tavares would still be 2 steps behind. They're simply not in the same category, talent and skill wise.

Its silly, and saying Berniers ceiling is as high as Price's isn't wrong either. I think TOs defense is worse than anything Price had to work with, never mind the systems either.
Although to be fair, OByrne, Spacek, & end of the line Kaberle don't scream competence.

he seemed like a decent dude, in 2006 when Buffalo were loaded up, he was one of the few that didn't go over the top.

What is wrong with aspiring to be better, though?

We often complain about players who spew the same bullpoop over and over again, yet whena guy says stuff le Kadri said, he gets trashed.

Come on.

Theres a calmness to prices game that isnt worked on. The way he plays the puck behind the net sets him apart from many including Bernier. To say that Bernier could be as good if he had defence is rediculous...

Back to my beers...

Oh! Absolutely nothing. That's a very good thing. That's why I asked you if he said he wants or he could. If he wants, no problem, good attitude. If he said he could... I think he's dreaming a bit.

What I understand is he thinks he could play a lot better. And if he can get to the same level of preparation both physically and mentally as Tavares, he thinks he wouldn't be far behind.

Now, he better hit the gym and bring it every night.

I hear you, that low key behaviour has been mistaken for lackadaisical in the past. What would be the difference do you think if Price and Thomas or Rask changed teams 3-4 years ago? I don't underestimate Price at all and I do believe a guy like Gorges or Hamrlik saved his bacon many times.
