oh I'm sure its less than that...4 days on 4 days off yadda yadda. If folks don't want to spend the dough to take it to them over there then beef the (frank)ing poop up over here. Shouldn't even be an issue. Its fortunate that only one person had to die for that wake up call.

1 nutjob is too much anyway. Imagine 90 or 270.

They can't possibly follow all these people 24 hours a day.

I really like the idea of letting them go out of the country and then remove their passport. Very cost efficient.

I'm quite sure we could them out for free by using one of those "win a free trip " telemarketing company.

Indeed.

But canadian soldiers will still be targeted.... they will only be killed somewhere else instead of in our backyard.

That said... when you decide to join the army, I guess it's kind of part of the job.

And when on that job... they "expect" it more than when you're back home Honoring a war memorial.

IT's gutless

edit: Here's the thing... why send troops out there? When doing so, you kind of become part of the problem. That leads to being targeted and yadayadayadayda.

Let "them" solve their own poop and then help them out with "Canadian Aid thing we used to be good at back in the days"

But canadian soldiers are IN Canada, that's the point!
Seriously, there's not too many solutions. They either watch them closely or let them leave. You cannot have 90 'bombes a retardement' walking around not knowing when and where they're gonna go off.

Of course it's disgusting. But mostly because it happens here.

Soldiers die every day around the world. And not a single (frank) is given.

If you are going to remove their passports... maybe you should also get the guns and have a talk with them...no ?

Al Qaeda made it clear after 9/11. They said something like "we'll take your wives, make them pregnant and invade you from the inside" or something (frank)ed up like that.

Seems like it'll happen.

That's what they did with the guy in St-Jean. They met with him on a monthly basis. Last meeting was 2 weeks ago! He didn't have a gun, took his car.

Soldiers getting killed here, get killed because of the soldiers abroad.

So maybe we should care less about how other countries go about their business?

It's complicated.

Yup. And civilians too but they are described as casualties or collateral damage in the fight against terror. Not much difference in my book who the assailant is. The imposition of ideology by military means is just as reprehensible as killing in the name of religion for other (frank)ed up reasons.
