To me, it's the mindset that is the issue. A guy like Akeson seems to have to do more or be more than a plug like Rinaldo to get in, and stay in, the lineup.

Akeson, despite being miscast on an energy line, has played well. For the argument that he hasn't done enough to cement a spot, I say he hasn't done anything to deserve being scratched, either.

- Jsaquella

Rinaldo is a player that has been on the team for a number of years, and has been working his ass off to try and become a better player in practice for a number of years. So stating that Akeson has to do more to get in, then a "plug" like Rinaldo is simply false. Not to mention that Rinaldo has easily been a better player then Akeson is. Any NHL rookie is subject to being scratched at times, even if he has played well. Just the way it is. Akeson really hasn't done anything that screams he has to stay in the lineup. And I honestly think that it's about matchups, and due to having to move Bellemare up, that led to the change. And also, Jones deserves some playing time also. Akeson is in competition for playing time. And that's how it should be.

VdV and Jones were poor last night. Time to bring back Akeson.
- Feanor

They had some poor turnovers, and were out of positon on the Bickell goal. No problem with reinserting Akeson.

I'll prepare you for the amazing conversations you'll be told, willingly or not:

Young man, let me tell you, (not-so-gentle slap to thigh) let me tell you about the little boy next door. It's the darndest thing, don't you know, he likes The Simpsons. Now, I don't know what that is, but he thinks it's the greatest. Now, the other day he was watching The Simpsons, and the rain shut down the power. So he couldn't watch The Simpsons. Isn't that just the darndest!?

My grandmother used to tell me stories that took anywhere between 5-15 minutes in length, and by the end, you were wondering exactly what thought she was trying to convey, although she thought they were the most hilarious things ever. If you tried to get a word in or add anything, you'd get, "yuh huh," and she's just keep on rolling. It was cute, but infuriating.

at what point do you start to consider the fact that given that statement, he just is what he is, and would rather take potential lumps with an unknown variable like akeson for a few weeks to see whats there? not attacking you personally, but i do really see the other side of the coin being played here, given how bylsma handled his younger players

We discovered that players can develop in the NHL just as well as in the AHL.
All of our players are terrible.
Berube is the worst coach ever.
Coburn is the worst player ever.
All of our players are terrible.
We lost because our team sucks. No, because we played with no emotion. No, because our team sucks. No, because we played with no emotion. No, because our team sucks. No, because we played with no emotion. No, because our team sucks. No, because we played with no emotion. No, because our team sucks.

Yeah, that was good.

Do we have any update on Coburn's injury?

Also, one of my personal favorites:
You know they call corn-on-the-cob "corn-on-the-cob," right? But that's how it comes out of the ground, man. They should call that "corn", and they should call every other version "corn-off-the-cob." It's not like if you cut off my arm you would call my arm "Mitch", but then reattach it and call it "Mitch-all-together."

This is what my friend said to me; he said, "Guess what I like? Mashed potatoes." It's like,"Dude. you gotta give me time to guess. If you're gonna quiz me, you must insert a pause in there."

A guy told me he liked cherries...but... I waited to see if he was gonna say tomato...before I realized he likes cherries just...all right, that joke is ridiculous. That's like a carbon copy of the previous joke but with different ingredients. I don't know what I was trying to pull off there.

Of course I'm negative. I believe with just a bit more hunger and hard work the Flyers would be mediocre

Last week I helped my friend stay put. It's a lot easier'n helpin' 'em move. I just went over to his house and made sure that he did not start to load poop into a truck

Sanheim is on the WHL team. They have a separate one for each junior league.
