Your just not going to get a defenseman of his caliber in free agency for less in most cases. He's well worth the price in my opinion. He's a solid puck moving defenseman.
- MJL

Still think he's a hard sell to move. As a UFA, that's one thing. As a trade, that's a large pill to swallow during the season. Off-season is a different story.

There is another option everyone seems to forget. Trading youth for youth. A lot of people here seem to think making a trade is mortgaging the future. If I can move a 23yr old for a 23-25yr old that actually fits the team, well I'm definitely making that move. They're called hockey trades. Not everything needs to be a blockbuster move that involves moving guys under 22 for a 30 yr old.
- hereticpride

Yeah or JVR for Schenn and Sharp for Ellison . Kidding kidding. Of course a youth for youth deal should be considered if its trading from strength for a weakness.

Someone posted on twitter last night would you make a "Lindros" sort of trade of Giroux. interesting thought not that G would net anything at the Lindros level

I've no problem with making fun of fat people. Fat, mentally-challenged kids is a different story.

If it helps u win games it makes all the difference in the world. This is an organization that has had its best years with ypung players at the helm.
- JoeRussomanno

that is my point, I can't see those players being difference makers at this time.

So changing the subject because I still wish the Flyers to win tonight, I feel like since they have done well to avoid penalities they seem like they are less aggressive. I might be wrong but i feel like they play their best when they are being a pain in the ass to teams. I want to see COuturier tonight take a run at Malkin and maybe even drop the gloves. Someone has got to take the lead. Hell maybe giroux can just ask crosby to go right off the back. Something to show me the guys care tonight.

Schenn was taken way too high in the draft.

Sbisa was ruined... and he can't stay healthy.

- Tomahawk

Being a right handed shot helped Luke, but he went just about where he was projected to go by most of the prognosticators.

Maybe. We'll never know.

But yes, we should have never sent Morin/Sanheim/Fazleev/Aube-Kubel down. Trade everyone on the NHL team, bring up all of our prospects and watch them immediately beat the world!
