it is obscene. like i said i know everything gets marked up, but that just seemed like one of the most ridiculous things ive ever seen. the profit ratio for fries at regular restaurant prices is a winner. at that rate, its astronomical.

- JoeRussomanno

haha i'm not a violent person, but if a stranger threw a container of fries at me, id be testing that high ground.

actually, id be thinking about scooping them back up and reselling them first.

Nah. I want to give him a couple months. My point is there's no REAL reason to leave him down there. He's better than what we have. I think Alt and Morin are better than what we have.

On solely the basis of he HAS to be down there, I'm against it. He doesn't have to be down in the AHL. He's not going to be a better or worse player playing in the minors. It's all crap. There's no evidence that players with drive and talent get better playing in the minors for an extended time. it's just a ruse for this team to throw out a terrible product because they are "waiting for the kids to develop and showing patience."

- mayorofangrytown

i'd leave the kids in the AHL to develop chemistry, confidence, and a team bond (be like friends) it's hard to develop that if they're constantly going up and down

So you see zero difference between honing your game against AHLers before playing against NHLers as opposed to going straight from college to the NHL? You see no difference at all in those developmental paths?
- jmatchett383

Only for lesser players, than there's a huge difference. I don't see Gostisbehere and Morin as lesser players. Maybe you think less of them and that's the difference.

They're intentionally playing worse players as part of a ruse?

Nah... I knew they offered the QO to him and he went to play elsewhere. What I didn't know is if they can talk to him and try to convince him to sign a contract promising him more minutes.

I rather liked Huskins at the time as well. Thought he was pretty solid, although I also feel like he and Schultz are more or less at pretty much the same stage of their careers

What prospects are developing on the flyer current roster exactly?
- JoeRussomanno

Do Couturier and BSchenn count?

I think they should count.

If that's how you feel, that players can develop from college to the NHL as opposed to from the AHL to the NHL, then we're done here.

They could probably have as many minutes as they want this season. I don't think minutes would be an issue - its not like we are the hawks with Keith, oduya, hammer, and seabs penciled in the lineup. A guy like mark streit may provide ghost better guidance/mentoring than brandon manning can.
- moylander

The Hawks are playing TVR. Breaking the crap out of him every night. Don't know how he made the jump from college to the NHL. Hawks are dumb.

I suppose they could since they retain his rights. I doubt he would though. He's doing pretty well in the KHL right now getting the minutes he's been wanting and probably making a decent pay check
