Brodz has been a healthy-ish scratch for Minny and seems like he could be the cheapest option. If Fistric costs a 3rd or so, I'd gladly give that to Minny for Brodz to slot into the Oil's lineup for the next 76 games.

I'm fine with this as it gives LD more time to develope , but it doesn't exactly fix our real problems, and that is that we are still crap. |

Well it doesn't fix our problems, but it certainly improves on them.
Brodziak is probably a better defensive centre than LD will ever be.
Brodziak this season will score at around the same clip as LD.
If you can't have a true 1C and 2C, might as well have a good 2C (Nuge) and three decent 3Cs (the rest sans Drai) |

Here's a radical thought:
something surrounding Yakupov + Petry + ?? <---> Brodin + Brodziak + Coyle |

I find it hard to believe the Wild would go for this. I think they view Coyle as as good a player as Yak, and Brodin as better than Petry. |

Well they're wrong on Coyle but essentially right on Brodin. But point taken. Maybe a lesser winger, and they throw in a conditional about re-upping Petry? |

I don't get it. What has he done to get 5 years? Sure it's not a crippling cap hit, but if Edmonton makes that deal we get roasted. |
