1) Your point?
2) Every goaltender has his own tendencies that the team needs to learn to play, so defensemen will know what a goalie will do in certain situation. It takes time to learn that.
3) They found a way, didn't they?
4) Why does he need an excuse? Is he supposed to score EVERY game??

I guess there are some on here that believe if you don't win by five or six goals then we are crap.

Looks like my biggest concern heading into the season is coming to fruition. We are a VERY soft team. Teams are going to pound us with no fear. I hope I'm wrong, but I see a ton of skill flying around without any grit. Maybe I'm living in the past, but I would love to see someone in the lineup to keep opposing player in check. Besides. I love a couple of good scraps per game...hate watching soccer on ice.....Go Bolts !!

And Callahan, and Killorn...The days of the enforcers are pretty much gone. If people want to see fights, there's plenty of semi pro leagues around the country...

Agreed... just would like teams to fear us for our skill and physical play when they step into Amalie.

I agree, the Bolts do not have an enforcer type player. I think that role is becoming more and more useless in the NHL these days.

I didn't see any flagrant play to warrant a penalty on Calgary really except on there PP when one of there players dumped Stralman behind our net. The Blunden penalty was iffy at best it will get called like the refs did but it was kinda a 50/50 tripping. The only deserved Penalty was the Filppula, he set a pick.

But they won playing a terrible game, the only plus was they had tons of offensive zone time, they controlled the possession most of the game but Calgary was content to sit back and counter. Until about 10 minutes to go the Bolts refused to shoot the puck on net. Glad they started to do that.

Cooper mentioned in post game how with the injuries they are a lighter team (his words) and they are having to adjust accordingly, he said the guys still need to get to get traffic in front of the net and not get pushed off. I think the Bolts will be fine when Gudas, Killorn, and Callahan hopefully return in the next two weeks. Then Hedman back in December just in time to hopefully put a run together.

Lastly the thing I like most about watching the Bolts under Jon Cooper is how the D activates in the offensive zone, it helps sustain pressure and create scoring opportunities. And I will say I think Andrej Sustr played his best game by far, he was very active in activating and keep the pressure on without giving up any D responsibility, hope he continues to improve his game.

I was bummed to see Drouin get robbed by Ramo in overtime. It was a sick save, but would have been nice to see Drouin get the OT GWG.

Great to see so many highlights of Drouin after his 2nd game and to know he has already got his first point.
Stammer will get going soon enough. Last night was the 2nd in two nights of what is a lengthy road trip, can't expect them to fire on all cylinders.
The team was very soft last year as well, once these young guys round out some more I imagine we'll bring in some more toughness, perhaps that's part of Morrow's purpose?
It's good to know Nabokov is doing well, we finally have unquestionable goaltending for the first time since Bulin.
I can't wait to see what this healthy squad does with Drouin clearly in the fold. Hate to say it, but if one of these youngsters were to sit out half the season, would it be worth trading maybe Brown for a tougher player? He tried to fill that purpose last night, but it's clearly not a strength of his.

I'd send Vladdy down to Syracuse. That's the easy solution. No waivers.

I don't think he's been nearly as good in the last few games either.

Gudas is a presence . Remember in Syracuse when they put him on 4th line forward just so he could have his presence out there ? He helps his team mates and he's not a dummy he's smart with the puck he just needs to mature .. Will he go out of his way to make the big hits ? Absolutely . Will he sometimes get caught out of position doing so ? For sure , but with seasoning he will learn when to pick his moments and even since last year I think he's improved in that department

How about mark barberio ? If he steps up in OT like that play he did on the stamkos drouin 2on0 and misses the puck everyone would be quick to poop on him for creating an odd man rush , but he hit it up and created the best scoring chance and almost helped his team win there , he , like gudas , is learning when to pick his moments and he showed that with that play

I guess what in saying is we are starting out slow , we have injuries to massive assets to our team (2 top 6 forwards and our #1 dman) and we have many rookies / 2nd years yet were still 4-2-1 and 2nd in the Atlantic for now and it's still very early . Give the guys a little longer to show what their worth . We can't already be forgetting what kucherov and namestnikov did in the pre season and training camps can we ? They have it , just needs to come , I'd give it a little longer ..glad Connolly is getting a chance to show he's worth keeping

I really like the Palat - Filppula - Johnson line. I found they played well and controlled the puck in Calgary's zone. Mind you I fell asleep for the second and third so I may have missed much of the sloppy play.

Glad they came back to win!

Filppula played with Stamkos and Drouin. Johnson has to play center in my opinion. Hes not as effective as a winger.
