why does Strome need a message. he set up Hickeys goal and also set up Nelsons goal against Rangers. he has 5 points in 5 games.

What next is Nelson going to be healthy Scratch?

also what is BS. Isles getting pushed to overflow channel tonight? that's BS.

I agree. I 'm been disappointed in the entire fourth line. They seem to be on the ice more than any other line 5 on 5.I was a big supporter of Clutterbuck. I really thought he would have a good year. I even went as far as saying he would get more points than Nino. I stand corrected.
- dack1972

I think you are disappointed with 4th line b/c Cizikas is not a 4th line player. he is like a 2nd line player. B/c clutterbuck and Martin skating with him, the both look aweful.

I don't see much of a spot for Conacher if he doesn't work out on the top line. The second line is kinda set and I don't know if he'd fit anywhere else in the lineup.

You could always pounce on Lee via the waiver wire if he gets called up to take Cory's spot

- eichiefs9

I don’t think it’s top-six or bust for Conacher. In fact, I think he’s a good 4th line player miscast as a “skill” guy on multiple teams solely because of his ridiculous start in TB. I like his game. He reminds me of a less-selfish Jason Blake with how he uses his speed to get in on the forecheck and force the puck carrier into a mistake, even when it looks like an easy out for the other team’s d-man. He’s also not afraid to go to the net, or to get a little close to the goalie after the whistle to draw a punch in the face and a penalty. Add to all that, he’s got a pretty damn good release on his wrist shot. I’d take that skill set on the fourth line. He should be cycled in when current fourth liners start inexplicably taking their spots in the lineup for granted, and not taken out until he makes that same mistake.

Don’t like him on the first line. He’s just not in step with the other two. Like many checking/energy players, I just don’t think he has the awareness and instincts to play in a key scoring role like that.

You don't have Cablevision so unless you have the away feed it will not be in HD for you

Interestingly enough last game I got the isles feed and it was in hd (that has never happened before, and I’m not exaggerating)

Maybe they fixed it this year so the games are all in HD. Standard def looks like dog crap on a 60”.

I’d rather listen to the leafs broadcasters than watch standard def.

So does anyone else find it interesting how over the last couple of years in particular that the Islanders injuries have always coincidentally come at the same time someone’s coming off an injury? It’s been very convenient that we haven’t had to put anyone on waivers because someone else always seems to get hurt at the same time.

Curious if it’s just me that noticed this.

So Jack told Grabovski to go out and stand in front of Scott with his head down?

Got into it a bit with Eric Hornick, the Isles stat guy on Twitter today. The guy swears that the Islanders are on Fios channel 579 tonight in HD. My channel guide, as well as history, tells a different story, and the game is on MSG+2, which is not in HD on Fios, not MSG2. Just waiting til 7 o'clock to send my told ya so tweet.

Anyone see Cappy's quote where he said he's not going to talk about the PK anymore? And how we'll hopefully get a big save when we need it? Fix the system you putz.

Cappy still blaming the goalies for everything I see?
- ses111

that's how I took it and Halak has been excellent. the problem is we give up way too many good chances and clear shooting and passing lanes on the pk. The goalies are the least of our concerns there.

not that injury, the timing of our defensemen coming back off IR as someone goes on it. Just an interesting coincidence. Or, too many alien shows.

Leddy looks good to me. He’s been steady in our end and has only had a couple of passes I thought were a little dangerous. He’s taken a few rushes up ice but appears to be playing a bit conservatively which is fine. He could turn out to be a good one, and I honestly didn’t think he’d look this capable defensively.

Yeah I saw that/heard it. Incredible. Relying far too much on a goaltender to make a ave=bad defense overall. He should be banned from speaking.

Butch: The Leafs have had some good games and some bad so the statistics are a little bit screwed.

Howie: You mean skewed.

Butch: Yeah, skewed.

Howie: OK. Just making sure we're on the same page.
