True, but we expect Bieksa to be bad. Not once has anyone thought of Bieksa as a possible Noris Dman. At one time, Edler was thought to be one.

It's disappointing to see how far his game has regressed.

I always think there is a coach whispering in his ear, encouraging but all he hears is, "keep doing what you are doing", because he always seems to be doing the same stuff, same mistakes.

WD talking Kass: being a bit evasive when asked about his minutes - says players need to earn time by playing well

2 players have scored more than 1 goal on a goalie so far this year. Vrbata and Kassian.....

I think as good as Vrbata has been with the Sedins, Vrbata needs to be tried on the 2nd.

I don't think Willy would be willing to split up the 1st line

He still makes some horrible decisions at times with the puck. But I'd still like to see him get more mins, I'm amazed that both Higgins/Burrows are ahead of him on PP2.

Ya ffs give him some PP2 time. I don't see how Vey has earned PP1 time yet Kassian hasn't even earned a single look on the second unit

I would like to see Bonino get to play with Kassian and Matthias, give him some big wingers to muck around with. Higgins Richardson Burrows can eat tough minutes and let Dorsett Vey Hansen build on a decent game .

Sounds like it is worth a go... someone was saying Vey's faceoffs are usually offensive zone... Is WD trying to get him going or trying to protect him? If he isn't putting up points, it sounds like a wasted opportunity for the Sedins or to get another line going.

I like the idea of adding some size the that 2nd line.

Send this to the coach before the Blues game. We'll see if he's listening.

Bonino had big wingers in ANA and he had success. I think it's a great idea to try to mimic that ANA situation. All Kassian has to do is turn into Getzlaf and we're set.

Soldier dead from the shooting

Global retracted the comment and said they have no proof that soldier is dead

- VANTEL

Yeah, he's dead. Reservist. Not even a soldier. That sucks.

That was my thought as well, obviously less skilled but than Perry/Getzlaf but maybe more skilled than Higgins/Burrows. I would like to see Kassian start shooting a lot more. He has historically scored at really high shooting % but doesn't take a lot of shots. Coincidence or sign he is an elite shooter? most likely a coincidence but if he posts 3 consecutive 15% shooting rates I might start thinking otherwise.

Im laughing. Bieksa is teflon coated without a doubt. Not a single mention of his disaster play last night in the media. They mention many but not him. Come here and people are on about Edler again.

If Edler and Bieksa have the exact same horrible night, people will poop on Edler and Bieksa will get a pass.

I would rather Edler any day.

I've noticed this dating back to last year.

e
If we consider that Burrows should bounce back to 70-80% of form, he can score around 20-25 this year on the top line. If Vrbata is really a good goal scorer then he should get 20-25 on the second line - or given he is a shoot first guy 25+. Given we are a 4 line team, then put vrbata on another line and he should produce and earn his 5m a year. Then we fix the scoring to a degree.

BTW like th previous combo's also. Giving the big K some 2nd line time with boner.....

Our d is still too lame though. BXA, Ham, or edler are not Doughty, Weber, chara, hedman, or any other game changers. (At least not Dion though.....)

Bieksa is the emotional core of this team. The only guy that has that 'fire'. No one else on this team has it.

Watch Bieksa at the :30 to :50 second mark of the video. We need more players like that. He has some skill, eat big minutes, and will fight when required (never staged). He also wants to be on this team.
I'll overlook his weaknesses because of the positives he brings. But I don't think he's a 1-2 Dman. More like a 3-4 type.

Though the first line seems safe, I think the rest of the forwards will go into the blender soon.

Just in time for Bo to rescue us in the faceoff circle?
