They had the full summer to change that - VANTEL
That contract pretty much handcuffed them to Burr for now. |

Easier said than done when he took over a team full of NTC's. Not sure what you realistically expected. - Nucker101
If my hand were tied like JBs I would say to Burrows he is being shopped, if he refused ,I would tell him enjoy Utica or maybe Buffalo would pick him up. I am a heartless bastard |

Again, I don't think that was realistic though. I doubt many GM's would do that. |

Utica is beautiful this time of year if Burr didn't give a 10 team list |

And then nobody would ever want to sign/play in Vancouver ever again... |

Then keep an aging, unproductive , costly Forward for the next 4 years |

I do agree that some of "player treatment" is overblown. FA's really only care about money, the city, and some care about winning. They don't care about loyalty if the team sucks and can't afford them.
Look at the Rangers after they had Redden riding team buses in the AHL while making 6.5 million. |

That's 3.5 million of dead cap space though. |

Exactly. If after 20 games in Burrows has 3 goals and I was Benning I would say which do you prefer? Give me a list of 10 teams or I am going to put you on waivers and where you land up after that I don't care. |

I think Burrow would provide a list of 10 teams as opposed to riding the buses in Utica
Even if we trade Burrows we are going to take a loss |

I'm with you on this one(rare case, ). Being loyal to mediocrity is a recipe for disaster. |

The more pertinent question is not whether he'd waive but whether a team would send anything meaningful back in trade. I have my doubts. Unless you're talking about a salary dump, which of course only helps if the spare salary is put to good use. |

That cap would help in the future if it isn't used this season. |

Well let's see how things look at the trade deadline. This team desperately needs a couple top six forwards though or they're in trouble. Same old same old. |

You won't get anything meaningful back at all ,it is a salary dump. He is a shadow of the player he was. |

Not if it's spent on an over-paid UFA that doesn't pan out. Not disagreeing with you, just saying spare cap space is not actually useful until it's put to good use. |

It's a completely new management team and coaching staff. They shouldn't be loyal to anyone. |

The Nucks are actually just behind where the Winnipeg Jets are, they just don't know it. The reason they're slightly ahead of us is because they're actually starting to inject some of their picks into their lineup. We're not there yet. |

I am not sure if there is anyone on here who would trade Burrows today for a 7 th rounder? |
