Im speaking of forwards, Burrows is NOT a core player. Like I said, despite what management may think. - LeftCoaster
Management doesn't think of him as a core player IMO. I fully believe the rumours that he was asked to waive. |

Two management groups considered them core , so I am going to turn your comment around and say no matter what you call them Management do call them core. |

Then why did WD fly to meet him? Why didn't they waive him and get cap space
I have heard at least two interviews with JB and Trevor saying how it is very important for him and Edler to get back to when they were two years ago |

If they truly believe that after 20 games they're in for a long year!! This team needs a serious injection of youth and speed. |

Fair point, but Willie probably realized he had to count on Burrows due to lack of depth up front. |

Because he'd yet to have seen Burrows play and he likes the European flavour of Montreal |

Well he obviously didn't waive so unless he does there isn't much use in calling him a washed up piece of poop In the past he has been a successful player so they wanted to recover some of what was lost but I dont think for a second that they would hesitate to trade him if a deal is in place and he is willing to leave |

Easier said than done when he took over a team full of NTC's. Not sure what you realistically expected. |

Yup - that's on Gillis for handing him that contract, I don't mind him as a bottom six forward, but not a top six guy at 4.5 million from what I've seen of him in five games. I said last year he looks to have lost a step. |
