I think the fan base gets a bad rap for the whole goalie graveyard thing. We've had quite a few beauties. |

Please don't...
We have a starter with promise and a capable backup with over a decade of NHL experience. No controversy there. |

That's a long time. Can't really say they got much if anything from the departures of Modano, Robidas, Morrow, Richards, Eriksson and neither were they getting high draft picks.
I'd argue that their fortunes weren't really revived until Nill took the helm a few years ago. That's a spontaneous re-tool and a good GM can make that happen. - AlexF
You've got to be kidding here
Modano was over 40, they decided not to trade the face of the franchise but let him finish his contract. Both him and Richards involved trying to make the playoffs and hopefully convince (Richards) to stay.
Robidas was a soon to be UFA still with a broken leg, good chance he didn't play again last year (probably shouldn't have), they were lucky to get anything for him and did him a solid by sending him to a contender.
They traded Morrow for Joe Morrow, and a first (later used Joe in a trade for Seguin).
Ericcson was one of the main pieces in the Seguin trade.
Despite all these "poor moves" where they didn't get any value they were in the playoff hunt for most of those down years twice being eliminated on the final day.
Nill has made a lot of good moves and but it also helped to have committed ownership, at least we didn't tank for years like EDM, Chi, or Pitt, I don't think we've drafted top 10 since the 90s.

Well that was fun. Ryan Miller............... Yah. He was bad. But the D infront of him was worse. He got hung out to dry.
Although I do believe Lack is the more superior of the two.
Could be a long year. Also could just be a bad game. This season will be interesting regardless. |

Outside of the twins there is no real core of players, even if you/we call them that, that's the problem. |

We payed our dues. Hicks did all could to ruin the Stars, Rangers, and Liverpool.
Tough loss tonight but you guys have a darn good coach, give it some time.

Right now is when the players we've drafted and developed (hypothetically of course) should be taking over for the twins or at least supporting them. |

Elder Hamhuis Burrows Bieksa are core. Head coached don't fly all over the world to discuss strategies with secondary players. |

In a perfect world Hodgson would be the 2C, and they never would have drafted Schroeder... |

Im speaking of forwards, Burrows is NOT a core player. Like I said, despite what management may think. |
