They will be fine tonight. Maybe even get a point out of it.

Oops, read that backward.

But don't both B. Schenn and Giroux fit the same category?

- jmatchett383

B. Schenn is close, yes.

If Coburn plays, Berube said he might go with 7 D tonight.

He has been. We'll see if he can finish or not, but he definitely pushes play in the right direction.

True, the finish hasn't been there, but he's definitely driving play away from the Flyer end.

If this happens and he dresses 7, this will be interesting to see who gets the ice time.

1. Amac
2. Streit
3. Grossmann
4. MDZ
5. Coburn
6. Schultz
7. Luke Schenn

Edit: Amac will play 35 minutes and be a -3. He'll 'look' good though

I think he wants to ease Coburn back in and if he gets re-injured, they're not running 5 defensemen vs Chicago.

I'm starting to wonder if Mase will be able to finish the season above a .900 SV%, with the way they're playing D in front of him.
- Tomahawk

Ken Dryden couldnt... what makes you think Mason could? lol

They can't continue to play this way. They can't force him to start this many shifts in the defensive zone. Eventually, the training wheels need to come off the other lines.
- PhillySportsGuy

You're right, but as it stands, using Couturier that way gives the team the best chance to win. Until the other lines improve defensively to the point where the Coach trusts them more on D zone draws, it's not likely to change.

The whole win right now at all cost mantra is getting old with this club.

If Couturier doesn't develop that offensive game they have only themselves to look at.

I think, deep down, Craig Berube would like to deep six Luke Schenn.

There's a difference between "win now" and "win the current game."

If Lauridsen and Manning have to enter the lineup due to injury, does L. Schenn move up the totem pole?

Luckily it's only his 7th season in the League, or I might start to worry he is what he is. The growing pains of a young dman.
