This entire trade reads like Oilers message board wishful thinking.

There's an element of that, for sure.

I think that's actually pretty reasonable.

So that would be like Sanheim and Raffl for us

It's probably more fantasy trades than anything

Mmm... maybe more along the lines of Laughton and Luke Schenn.

It's not cheap, but w/ their ridiculous amount of snazzy F prospects, they can wing it (har), where we probably could not.

Larkin = Laughton? I guess Larkin has more upside but Laughton is a safer bet

Laughton is the best player not playing in the NHL right now.

I like this site, though quality isn't always great.

Laughton was a lesser name from a deeper draft... Larkin a bigger name from a weak one.

He'll still be just as solid, they'll have their choice of players in this upcoming deep draft.

Seems fair for Myers. I've never been heavily interested in him though. Rather trade for less potential and more consistent.

The price for Myers is high, high enough that a team knee deep in prospects thinks it's too high.

Would you trade Fazleev for him?

Right in time for Brooklyn to fawn all over them.

Sure but that's not even close to the start of what it would take, I want to continue to build the prospect depth.

Actually a bit similar to the Nets.

Nets went all out and spent a ton, traded away picks for players and got everyone excited.

They ended up being decent, but nothing good enough to contend for a title. Now, their players are old, they lack draft picks and young talent and their russian billionaire owner is about to sell.
