I think your progression is greatly exaggerated. 5v5 was terrible.
And we still finished 7th last in a shortened season. With a head start with our core playing together in north America. Not only that but we were took a nosedive as soon as it was crunch time in that season and everyone else ramped it up. We lost like 9/10 down the stretch.

And yaks looked like a true stud?! Holy exaggeration. He started well, finished super well when we were already done, and was invisible for a huge chunk of the meat of the season.

He looked promising, but I think urs is abit revisionist. And sophomore slumps are hardly uncommon. I hesitate to blame it on the coach is he playing stronger defensively now? Seeming less lost? Do u attribute that to coaching ( or just all the bad stuff?

yes we struggled 5v5 because we had no D and no bottom 6 players, our 5v4 was extremely good because we had some really good skilled players, so why has it regressed?


Yes, we completely fell apart at the end of the year, lost 9/10 and that dropped us all the way down to 23rd, imagine if we had connsistency with coaching and in turn got more connistency with our players. That epic collapse still had us finish higher than Eakins' year with a worse bottom 6 and worse D.

i attribute Yakupov seeming less loss due to the fact that he's not playing with complete plugs, and that he's actually playing on his natural wing. If he wanted to continue playing Yakupov on LW like he was so persistent in doing last year, i don't think he would look as improved as he does.

Why even bother asking? Put on your big boy pants and read it. As much as i'm an bumhole, you guys can never refute my critizisms with anything other than side stepping and deflecting arguments.

Edit: Teams don't progress with younger players and a farrrrr worse supporting cast just to magically fall apart as soon as the supporting cast vastly improves and the team gets older. It's not a coencidence, it's not bad timing for Eakins.

I think it was time to move on from Horcoff, but I also think we missed him a fair bit. Also not convinced that DD's play in 2013-14 didn't negate the few roster improvements.

Try actually looking at the team objectively (like you guys LOVE to say you do) and see where we were progressing, who was on the team, and look at when we started regressing and who was on the team. We got better in every position no? Goaltending? Bottom 6? Defense?

Im quite sure eakins system of defense does not include a clause that stipulates the dmen chase puck around while leaving the slot wide open. Or that all 5 players on the ice break coverage and start to follow the puck around like peewees. Its a learning curve, a large portion of the team is new. Lets give them more than 5 games to master a difficult new system of play before.wenblame the coach for the players failure to be perfect.
