Great stats and this proves what the eye test is showing me - a much more hungrier team, more responsible defensively with improved depth up front. The D could be improved if TVR proves to be an upgrade over Leddy (he may be already defensively) and Rozi can play steady hockey.

WAH as coach - that's what happened!

Nice win, pretty much everyone played well. New lines worked.

But that Flyer defense is bad. If the Hawks hadn't taken their foot off the gas after the 1st period, they would have had 60 shots on goal.

Next 2 games will tell a lot, in Nashville and in STL. Still, 90% of the possible points earned. And these count as much as the ones in March.

Still got the heart of a champion Blazin, They say you cant make the playoffs in Oct-Nov but you can dig play your way out. Thats why 20 games in you start seeing teams squirm. At 20 games the hawks can be around 7 games over 500. A team like the Jets might be 7 games under. That gives you just over 60 games to make up the 14 game deficite. Not an easy task to get home advantage. Making up even 10 games to get in is a helluva climb. The Hawks get out of the gate well, it might even explain some of those stinkers in Jan-Feb.

And speaking of poise as well as turning into a fourth line asset, I give you Daniel Carcillo. Reinaldo takes a couple shots at him, he does nothing and skates away resulting in a Hawk power play.

Carrillo can help this team. And he's not a drag to the fourth line either. Very surprised and impressed this far.
