leafs better not trade kadri - that would be typical though, wouldn't it

ok off to watch this game

- big_dion

If the Leafs really want to make a statement, try trading some of their over 25's and not touch the Kadri's and Gardiners of the team. Better to do that then regret it later. We already know what we have with Phaneuf, Bozak and Kessel. All expendable, in my eyes, for the right price.

Well when its for another great young player its not that bad. If it all. You probably would have said the same thing about luke schenn...
- prock

Would you do Kadri, even up for Brayden Schenn?

You know what Stee? (frank) you, and (frank) your weak-ass cold-fermented-for-smoother-lack-of-taste piece of poop piss water in a can.

At least my weak-ass cold-fermented-for-smoother-lack-of-taste piece of poop piss water in a can doesn't cost me an arm and a leg.

I think I'd trade Lupul first. I think the team could be okay without for now.

Nor me. $12ish a sixer, same as most regular brands.

If it's more expensive I let the wife buy...

I just watched this weeks big bang theory. Oddly enough it was about money and a whole scene with Bernadette and Howard as she makes more.

Does your wife also give you an allowance?

Same age, same draft, different skill set. Schenn is more like a Bolland type, who can win faceoffs.....less offense, but better cycling skills.

You'd get less. Injury prone, over 30. The other's are pretty reliable, injury wise. Lupul would be a better piece to trade at the trade deadline. Low cap hit and some leadership skills.

The comparison of Schenn and Kadri, is due to them going 5th and 7th overall respectfully. Schenn is more of a Carlyle type of player.

Probably not. I like kadri. Brayden schenn has been underwhelming.

Randy Carlyle has to go. He cannot coach in today's NHL. He couldnt coach a Ducks team, that quite frankly has been as close to a powehouse than any other team in the NHL since he's left.

Luckily Babcoc will be here next season and this team will finally make the playoffs....until then, lets just sit back and accept this vomit now. will miss the playoffs once again.

If the rumours are true and the leafs are in fact talking to San Jose about Joe Thorton....just vomit now. Sharks are looking at Franson and Kadri.....I'd do that plus a pick for Couture but not Thorton.

If he had leadership skills the leafs wouldn't have collapsed so much.

I don't mind the smaller return because it frees up some cap space for someone else.

on a serious note... if the Leafs deal for one of San Jose's older players (Thornton, Marleau) that will tell you that absolutely nothing has changed within MLSE... same poor management decisions continue.

whether Carlyle makes it through the season or not is really just a function of how high or low the expectations are within the management team. If the really want a shot at a lottery finish, then they should play a couple more kids, move out Lupul, Franson and possibly Phaneuf allow the kids to develop.

How do you give up next to nothing and expect to get a 70 point player?
- JohnFergusonJr

Same way that you guys gave up Seguin for Eriksson

I agree going after older players isn't a good idea.

However, I don't think dropping for a lottery pick is a good idea. Buffalo, carolina, florida, are way worse already. It would be a waste and it's a waste of JvR and Kessel for a year.

Doughty is capable of scoring 20 goals and 70 points but doesn't because his team plays a less reckless style. But his point production does go up during the playoffs. Karlsson scores as much as he does because he's pretty much allowed to do whatever he wants. But either way, Rielly doesn't seem to be on either one of their levels offensively, even if Karlsson is on a higher level than Doughty.
- JohnFergusonJr

Rielly looks similar considering the age

Eriksson was a 70 point player. I mean, bad trade but a lot closer to justifiable.
