Last year was bad. This year they look organized. They still gotta be better on pp, I front of our net and wingers gotta get in the shot lanes better
- joshs

I don't think they looked organized at all. Save for last game, where we lost 4-0 they have been getting out shot badly. They look like puke and they have enough veteran players where we should at least look like an NHL team.

Next year will be better .. we just have to gut it out
- gerbe75pts

My problem is I can't totally not watch the train wreck like I could when I was younger. I didn't watch the Bills from 94-99. Didnt watch the Sabres from 2000 till late 2003.

Yeah we def looked unorganized vs powerhouses like Chicago, Anaheim but the last 3 games weren't soo bad. A shoutout win vs Carolina. A 1-0 loss to Florida and last game where we played pretty even vs Boston. Ennis just couldn't handle kreji in our dzone, plus our wingers were not good at blocking the shooting lanes. Last year we were like some 25 games in and on our 3rd coach and we still looked lost on the ice. I can see improvements and it's still early on. Maybe I'm just remembering last year differently but from what I remember some ahl teams could have beaten us.

One of my biggest problems is the roster. They didnt commit to the squad and say "These are our guys. These are the positions they play. They heathy scratches are backups for a reason". Instead they are playing musical chairs.

That's what happens when you have a coach, whose only solution seems to be "well, you just gotta try harder", and a coaching staff that buys into that mantra.

Carolina is horrible to begin with and were missing their 3 best players, we aren't missing anybody or note. I know Chicago and Anaheim and Boston are all very good, but you still shouldn't be losing by 4 goals to anybody like they did all 3 of those teams.

If you know you're going to suck, what's so hard about identifying your players in order from best to worst? Maybe it's all by design.

Totally agree. Sometimes I don't think Nolan even knows the guys on the teams name.

Agreed. The team we were 3 years ago(that we all couldn't stand, you know the come in 8 brigade) would play great games against teams like that. We even won many of them. Losing wasnt a foregone conclusion before puck drop.

I really don't care if they lose but show up. Play hard, make it tough on the other team to get the 2 points. . 6 games and 2 fights??? Drop the gloves more often. Not scoring a single goal in back to back games, at home, one being against FLA, is a joke.

Word of warning: tread carefully. Lest you be accused of implying that you are smarter than the current brass (you know, like we all did when Darcy Regier was at the helm).

Other than that Anaheim game (which I was unable to watch), I think the effort is there. They're just a bad hockey team and a clueless one as well.

I know for sure I couldn't coach hockey, but beyond that I'll take my chances.

Did you see Bucky Gleason's "suggestion" for the next UB Coach?

Like I admitted early I haven't watched a ton, but from what I have seem the effort is ok at best. People say the Columbus game was a decent to good effort...I didn't see that, especially for the season/home opener.

Yeah I don't want to lose and if I could choose I would like to lose 4-5 games. Boston exposed us. 2 of their goals were off of faceoffs where they got a got a guy to go to the net. Ennis can't lose the draws cleanly and cannot let kreji get prime positioning. Wingers gotta be better at blocking shooting lanes. We had a few even strength chances but for the most part our offense is pretty mute. Bad fowards tend to do that. Save for 2 games we've been in them all until the 3rd. If we can get our pp clicking its a different season. I just don't think it's as bad as last year. Guys are playing a team game, they just aren't good enough.

Maybe getting Pysyk back once he's done getting his conditioning up in Rochester will help. They desperately need someone on the backend that can make a good outlet pass.

Actually, they really need someone on the team in general that knows how to make a good pass.

The only article I remember seeing was about how it might be a Mississippi because of Danny White.

When Nolan took over as coach, I expected the effort level from his last tenure here and I agree, I just don't see it either. I think his last team was even LESS Talented then these guys. But they sure didn't like to lose. Of course, having Hasek made them look a lot better on the score sheet.

They may be the worst passing team in the league as well as have the lowest hockey IQin the league, collectively.

Would we have to call him "the Young Ball Coach"?
