Yeah, to be honest, I went to bed on Saturday Night/Sunday Morning thinking it was the right call. It wasn't until I heard Brian Kelly's explanation, and then noticed that the DB did in fact press him that I'm starting to change my mind.

Regardless, that game lived up to the hype and then some. I wasn't counting on it, but it delivered in spades.

I would agree except for the fact that that the DB went up and pressed him at the line first. Had he backed off originally, I would agree completely. However, last time I checked, simply overpowering a bump-and-run isn't illegal, no matter where your arms are (okay, so maybe not the face).

I didn't not care who wins. I don't care for either team. When the flag went up initially I didn't like it, but they were run blocking a passing play. The refs likely knew it was coming.

It was an entertaining game pretty much from beginning to end. I just wish the outcome had been a bit different.

It was part of the buffet in the TimeWarner Box at the Bills Game yesterday.

I could only eat 9 or 10 of them.

You'll have to be, yourself, or find, someone with access to considerable wealth. If I was told the truth, club is $3,600 per seat, available only per season basis, not per game.

If we get Mcdavid, he will mean as much to Buffalo as Lebron does to Cleveland. Discuss.
- Buffalo-Sabres

Close. But probably not. Lebron was from Akron which made him a "hometown hero". Patrick Kane would have fit your example for sure.

If we land either of the top two guys that everyone is talking about, that dude will be loved like crazy.....if he produces, which statistically is a given. The hype machine is really cranking right now on those guys.

As terrible as this might sound, I think they're just going to have to suck it up and keep him here. They don't have any other choice right now. Even if they only play him in some games. They're terrible this year anyway, and he can't possibly be much worse than Benoit or Meszaros have been.

He's got a man's body, so he'll hold his own physically. It's just a matter of the mental side of the game needing to be worked on at this point.

Which raises the question. What was the point of bringing in 4 defensemen?

I'm curious as to what his compensation is while he's up here but not playing. Without the 9 games, his pro contract doesn't kick in.

His Russian team won't grant him his release needed to play in the CHL. Either the sabres keep him here, or let him go back to Russia (at least that's what i've read).

"The Stars have made the decision to play 2014 first-round draft pick Julius Honka in the AHL this season."
Honka played last season with Swift Current of the WHL, and would typically have to return there under the agreement between the NHL and Major Junior hockey. However, he was on loan from Finland to the WHL, so he’s not allowed to go back to junior this year, according to Nill. That meant the choices for the Stars were to send him back to Finland or send him to the AHL. The Stars have decided to place the 18-year-old with the Texas Stars and leave him there for the season.

“It was a decision that we talked about, and he wanted to play in the AHL, so we feel good about this,” Stars general manager Jim Nill said. “In seeing him in Traverse City and in training camp, he’s a very mature player who is more than ready for this. If we didn’t think he could handle it, we would have made a different decision, but he proved himself.”

So if Honka was on loan from a Euro team and they wouldn't allow him to be assigned to Juniors, why can't Buffalo do the same with Zadorov and put him in Rochester?

I'm going to guess they figured he'd be granted exemption again by his KHL team and they'd send him to London.

Perhaps the KHL and the SM-Liga have different restrictions?

Since I know I won't be playing any of you folks in HBSL, just got news Hedman is out 4-6 weeks. Glad I saw it since I had him on my roster.

That was my initial thought as well, so thought perhaps it might be pointed out as fact here by others who may know.

First of all, this whole thing is a mess. Second of all, if this is really the case, then I don't see why Zadorov couldn't go to the AHL. But it also raises the question of why Grigorenko wasn't eligible for the AHL then last year as well.

I'm so confused.

The only thing I can think of is that the KHL/CHL transfer rules are different than the Finland ones.
