Why does it have to be a one week thing? Grabo goes on IR call up Lee. Grabo comes off IR and you send down McDonald (if he gets claimed good) if he doesn't he goes down to BP. Now with Grabo back you have the option of sitting Martin or any other playing that is struggling while keeping Lee in the lineup. It's not like Conacher, Bailey, Martin,Clutterbuck should be immune from sitting a game here or there if they struggle. Plenty of options for Lee to get playing time

Honestly I'd say Conacher is almost there. I have a feeling that experiment will be short lived.

With the addition of Voynov we will also acquire a new wife beating chant at the garden

It's funny in a interview the other night JT said Conacher creates space for him and KO by going in the corners and getting banged around in front of the net and I was like shat Lee does the same thing and he scores

He just seems to be in the wrong place for both Okposo's and JT's passes and has a hard time connecting with them on his passes. Don't get me wrong the guy plays hard which I love I just don't think he's right for our first line from what I've seen though it's hard to b!tch when we have a 4-1 record and both JT and OK have put up numbers in that time. Hopefully his timing will get better with more games? I hate seeing kids being demoted when they're doing the right things and the obvious "non core" players being given spots on a line with one of the best centers in the league.
I get spreading the scoring out but I think Conacher might be a real good fit on the 3rd or even 4th line. Maybe interchangeable with Clutter? I'd take him over Mcdonald any day. We are only 5 games in see how he looks the next few games.

"i'm not going after the coach because he isn't going anywhere...i'm also being realistic.. the only major issue I have with him is his usage of the fourth line. this fan base is hilarious at times, lose one game fire the coach. tweak lines at practice, jump off cliff.. win four games in a row...crickets... score 5 straight goals at MSG....nothing... I have no problem getting on the coach... but it can't be one sided 100 percent of the time"

I don't think anyone is jumping off a cliff. Generally speaking when a coach practices with line combos those are usually the ones you see in the following game.

- Cptmjl

Agreed- I also think that waiting on five goals for in a period and a half is probably not as likely to be as successful (and probably more akin to jumping off a cliff) as a commitment to defense would be to keeping the puck out of the net, and therefore only having to rely on one goal for per period. I'll take the latter every time, and until this team does, it will never be as good as it can be.

Viz is going to be activated tomorrow night and they will put Grabo on IR to make room and not call up Lee. All to save Donovan,McDonald & Strait. I want to throw up when I think the reason Lee is being blocked for the fear of losing any of those stiffs

Strait is killing them... He is on the ice for every friggin Goal. I agree with Dan on the too much TOI for 4th line. I would add the 3rd pairing to that gripe. Why is Strait on the ice every time I look up?

I don't get it as well. I appreciate the effort Conacher is putting forward but, you look at any players that has been plugged in on the top line has put up the points such as Boyes, Parenteau, Moulson, Vanek. I would put Bailey or Nelson on the top line. The top line played like crap last game. Drop Conacher to the 3rd line. I understand as a coach you don't want to keep juggling the lines but, he needs to find chemistry with the lines. I don't see it. He overplays the 4th line. It seems like they're on the ice a lot. I've always been Cappuno supporter but, don't like what doing so far this year. They're winning but, not due to coaching.

He is tough, I've watched many leaf games. He always got bounced around and always gets back up. He needs to skate with his head up. Those type of hits are career ending.

if grabo is going to IR then yes Lee should be up, my point is if grabo is cleared this weekend don't waste the option on Lee

the easiest way to play with a lead is to hold onto the puck. the less time you have to spend defending the better. the third periods against Carolina saturday and at MSG are prime examples

Absolutely agree with this. Lee is JUST what that top line needs. Someone who goes to the net like a bull.
