Oh thanks guys. I was at the drop zone all day yesterday and then got home for family pictures with new baby... must have missed that. So are pens 1 slot empty on 23 man roster? Is that due to BB coming back?

The nickname value is the most important of the fancy stats. It determines a players worth in the minds of the fans which is more vital then any other stat. Especially if that players nickname is Yak.

I think its a move to save some Cap dollars, maybe? But its on LTIR so i do not believe it accumulates. In any case, glad the team is getting healthy.

Cap space cleared with the recent moves and Bortuzzo is likely back. I'd like to see them call up another young forward to play in the back to back situation.

They would if that prospect is pouliot.
- drummer829

nope. Edmonton doesn't need another prospect they have to wait on. They need a legit top pairing defenseman and a minute eating two way center who can play second line and contribute offensively. Giving up on Yak for neither of those is a bad decision.

Yep and they won't do it, I'm not that big on Yak anyway.

The wait isn't long for Pouliot though. HCMJ who coached him in Portland says he's ready for the NHL now. I'm not sure how soon he'll be back on the ice, but the kid is good.

I'd personally wouldn't trade him for Yak. A lot of mixed reviews on him.

Honestly, Edmonton has got to do something soon. I mean, I get how tanking can turn a franchise around (Pitt, Chi, LA, Tampa), but the Oilers just can't seem to get over the hump. How long can they jus keep going down a losing path?

If I was Edmonton I'd listen to offers. They need a C and a couple Dmen fast.

Sutter would Fit in there easily.
