Trading Plekanec for Yakupov is just plain stupid. Let's remove a strong two way player, a pilar to this hockey team, one of only a few vets we have left who works hard and leads by example and replace him with a kid who has shown (frank) all.

The guy has played with the poopty lineman almost his whole career, never complained or asked to be traded. He put the team first and even managed to do very well with crappie linemates.

Now that his patience has paid off, he finally has wingers to play with and the team looks ready to contend....let's get rid of him for a possible first round bust.

Do you think Mtl is a legit cup contender this season? At the level of Chicago or LA? If so, keeping Plek is the right move. But if you don't think this team could win before a few seasons, trading Plek makes sense. How good will that guy be in 3 or 4 years?

pourquoi l'expression parle de trente sous alors que la valeur est de 25 cents?
- Symba007

Ca prenait 4 trente sous pour faire une piastre (120 cents), à l'époque.

They are legit this year in the East and if they make the Finals and Price is hot then who knows..

For sure.
Look, there is a possibility with Yakupov.
His stock is low and he might play really well on a different team but can we not (frank) with the core players?
This team is looking really good.

I could see them getting out of the East but not really winning 4 games in a series vs LA or Chicago. I think this team will be better in a few seasons and getting a guy like Yakupov would help.

that's the point. Montreal or anyone in the East doesn't have to be better than SJ, Anaheim, LA, Chicago, etc. they have to be better than one of those teams for 10 days. and Montreal's window might never be more open than it is this year. no one knows what will happen 2-3 years down the road. maybe all the young talent in Tampa, Florida and Buffalo changes the landscape of the conference by then. it's not guarantee that Montreal will be better positioned in 2-3 years.

Yes we are at their level.
Time to wake up and smell the roses!! Things are great, sit back and enjoy! Don't fix what isn't broke and don't paint what you can't see. Also, what if he is a bust? Plekanec is far from being done. The style of game he plays will allow him to be very effective until he's 80 (frank)ing years old.

Tinordi and Beaulieu is a big reason why I think this team will be better in 3 years.

if he turns into a kostitsyn then what. I don't know much about the guy but he seems to create some negative jube jube, how would he handle the MTL fishbowl? Maybe Markov, Emelin and Galchenyuk help him out?

I am taking an online course.

In the communications section it explains to paraphrase a statement in order to ensure you and the person you are communicating with are on the same page about what is being discussed.
