Can't tell if the individuals are joking about trading Pleks in a deal for yak or if they're delusional... Plekanec is a player who should have been seriously nominated for the Selke a couple times(not win but nominated). To many fans of this team female dog about the wrong guys & defend others. I have ZERO interest in yakupov joining this team even if he does score plenty with galchenyuk. The guy has no defensive awareness, no positional awareness and a puck hog. No thank you. Give me the 31 yr old guy who is a quiet leader, does everything asked of him whether in the offensive zone, defensive zone, PP & PK. Not to mention that special ability to really annoy the opposition and throw them off their game (Crosby, Ovechkin, Marchand & Krejci).

Plek for MVP

EDM better send back Hall and Eberle if they expect MTL to take Yakupov off their hands for a star like Plekanec

Let them, it's 100% fact. Pleks did an amazing job shadowing and covering Ovechkin & Crosby in the run to ECF with Halak. He's done solid work entirely since then. Every team needs a guy like Pleks.

he's solid no doubt. i don't expect him to keep up a high scoring pace though. 20ish goals, 50ish points hopefully. but either way, unless something goes horribly wrong in the next few months, i don't see the team entertaining the idea of trading its best 2-way centre.

were they referring to him by name? or did they take a principled stand and refer to him as the suspended LA defenceman?

That was quite a long time ago. Halak use to be "good" back then also.

If the Habs want to try to win the cup in the next 3 years, they will keep Plek.

If they think they have no shot in the next 3 years, they should trade him. Yakupov could be a good risk.

On the other side of that. If Edmonton wants to do something new, like make the playoffs, Plek is not their missing piece. So he wont get traded there anyway.

yeah Tampa unfortunately looks like the real deal. it was a bit concerning how Montreal couldn't play with them last week.
- DoubleDown

Tampa were obviously motivated...and I think the Habs played with a level of self-satisfaction. That was a good wake up call, and better to have that now early in the season.

Plek is great. But if the Habs make their due diligence and think that Yakupov could realize his potential in a non-toxic environment like Edmonton and that the cost would be a soon-on-the-decline 20g-50p two-way center, maybe it could be considered.

Exactly. I think Pleks in the right offensive situation is a 60pt man honestly (20-25 goals & 35-40 assits). I'm happy for him finally getting some solid wingers to play with. The only way Mtl should consider moving Pleks is if things go sour for some horrible reason. You need a player like him for the playoffs & hopefully a longer run.

It sure didn't help Montreal that it was their forth away game on the road.
