In Toronto there is the Hockey Hall of Fame store...I have not spent that much time in it, but I saw they had stuff from every team...but it must be the big names only.

Edit: I would say the same about the bell centre then. This will be my third game. A preseason game in Ottawa last September, the ACC in March and now Buffalo. Considering the Sabres suck right now, they might.

Either way, it's basic commercialism, if you reach out to a larger customer base, you're likely to sell more.

Yeah, my girlfriend has changed her favorite team over the years between Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa. She's currently a leaf fan but I'm changing that. She only cheers for them when it's against Montreal, otherwise I have her following the habs. When we went to Toronto in March, we went to the hall of fame and the store only had price, subban, briere and chelios jerseys. I didn't want the last 2 for sure but I figured everyone has price and subban jerseys so I didn't get one.

I ended up getting a price jersey anyway the next day. A sports store by me that I had no idea existed until then had a price jersey for $90 simply bc the stitching on the name plate was done poorly for about 1cm of stitching.

Using shelve space at the Habs Boutique in the bell center to display Coyotes, Predators, Panthers, Stars, Sharks or even Senators merchandise is not a way to make more money.

it's a way to accumulate inventory that you won't be selling anytime soon, while losing shelve space for Habs merchandise (that you WILL sell).

True, but even if they only kept a couple key players from each team on hand and stored them away except for the day they were playing that team. I'm sure they have the space in the arena somewhere to store even 500 jerseys. I wouldn't suggest much of anything else. But I guess it's needed in crappier markets, not in the big markets.
