I'd be tempted to trade every player on the team and replace them with Swedes.

In reality while Sekera has talent its just more of what the Flyers currently have.

Guys who have a hard time leading a pairing, instead being secondary pieces with too many warts. If the squad didn't have MacDonald or Streit signed for the next 20 years I'd be down.

Do think Luke Schenn's time with the squad is coming to an end.

- flyer_nutter

I think it might. I don't think Homer would have moved him because, as much as it's a business, he is a human and therefore he has some degree of ego, as we all do. Him trading Schenn would be like admitting a failed marriage. Hextall came in with little attachment to any of these guys and can do as he wishes with no personal bias for the current time.

Sell the dead weight. Kick Holmgren's ass to the curb. Get Cote the (frank) away from coaching.

Grab the testicles. Stay the course. Back with a Vengeance.

What's the problem with Cote as a coach?

More or less, yes.

Also would be nice to have a few superstars in the 6th/7th round.

I believe the Flyers traded Jussi Timonen (may have the first name wrong) the same summer they had brought in Kimmo.

Luke Schenn is on his way to sunny and warm Edmonton imo. I'd much rather keep Grossmann as it is. More reliable even if injury prone.

I think they brought him in earlier (I think his rookie is from 06/07 products). I could be wrong though. Did he ever actually play for the Flyers (lazy)?

I think if you gave a few of us a few snorts of cocaine and cans of redbull we would be better than what the Flyers have.

I've been doing lunges for years waiting for the call.

I'm bringing it back. Let me go grab an XXL basketball jersey of an obscure punk band and/or non-local college.

A wise man once said, "I'm better than dirt. Well...most kinds of dirt. I mean not that fancy store bought dirt. That stuffs loaded with nutrients. I...I can't compete with that stuff."

Sekera is the nutrient-infused dirt to the common dirt that is the rest of our defense

My biggest issue with Grossmann was the decision to get his new deal signed before Carle's. There's been enough rumors that they had a deal for Carle similar to Coburn's and once Grossmann signed they couldn't do Carle's deal until the summer, as they lost the tagging space.

Then Wideman's deal happened in Calgary and there was not a chance to get Carle for less

- Jsaquella

I don't think any of us have enough information to know what truly happened with the Carle negotiations. There is enough speculative information to also say that it's possible that they just couldn't reach a deal at the time, and they went ahead with the deal with Grossmann.

Lots of confusion about tagging space. If a team truly wants something done, tagging space can be created.
I personally feel that the Flyers and the Carle camp had some distance between them in what each side wanted, and that's why it dragged on. And then I think once the off season came, the Flyers tried to agressively go after Suter instead, and put Carle on the back burner.

nah whats cool now is to get random flat brimmed hats of obscure teams (the more obscure the team, or obnoxious the color scheme, the better. bonus points for if the team is either in a difference city or form of existence now. think mega bonus points for your vancouver grizzlies, that kind of thing)

oh. and of the absolute utmost importance. the hat will come with various stickers. these must be left ON.

I definitely agree with the second part. They pushed hard for Suter/Weber and were forced to wait on both Carle and Jagr and ended up with what we have today.

I like your optimism.

So, about the Penguins giving us Crosby at 50% retained for us to dump Ghost, Alt, Morin, Hagg, and Sanheim...how we doing on that one?

Thankfully the flyers have enough manure on the team to make it a very beautiful garden.
